Confused in regards to test results

by Tah0e_R0se, Dec 06, 2004 12:00AM
Hi. I am 44 yrs old. I had an Abdominal and Pelvic Sonography, including Transvaginal Imaging performed.

The findings were:

1) A single, non-mobile echogenicity is noted along the posterior wall of the gallbladder, without distal shadowing. The remainder of the gallbladder appears within normal limits.

Multiple real time images of the pelvis were performed in July, 2004, with subsequent transvaginal imaging of the left ovary, for better evaluation of the left adnexal mass. The uterus measures 8.7cmx4.2cmx5.5cm, with an endometrial stripe of approximately 11mm. There is a 1.8cm cyst in the right ovary, in the left adnexa, without significant internal echos and increased through transmission.

In the left adnexa, there is a hypoechoic mass of approximately 3.6cmx2.8cmx3.7cm. On transvaginal imagin, it is apparent there are multiple internal echogenicities, as well as increased through transmission, without a fluid level.

The mass in the left adnexa has developed in the interval since a previous exam in 2000.

Differential diagnosis included etiologies such as cyst/adenoma and endometrioma.

Mild thickening of the endometrial stripe is 11mm.

Tiny, non-mobile focal echogenicity in the gallbladder wall, most likely a small polyp, without definite cholelithiasis.

Can anyone please help me in understanding what all this means or could mean?

I would really appreciate it.
