Upcoming Laproscopy

by lol2go, Apr 19, 2003 12:00AM
I've had increasing left pelvic pain X1 year, accompanied by diarhea/constipation, nausea, dizziness, weight loss (50 lbs) and periodic left arm numbness/pain.  I've had abdominal and transvaginal ultrasound (normal), abdominal CT (normal), colonoscopy/endoscopy (1 benign polyp - bile in stomach; otherwise normal). My inernist sent me to GYN doc, thought I might have cyst. GYN sent me to gastro doc.  Now I've been sent back to my GYN doc, whose scheduled me for a diagnostic labroscopy.  Should also note I'm 44, Protein S deficiency (2 PE, 1 DVT), prior tubal ligation, partial hysterectomy (abnormal bleeding).  My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a total mastectomy this year. Heart disease and diabetes runs in my family.  I'm concerned about ovarian cancer.  I asked my doc if this is something I should worry about and he would not make eye contact with me - an unusual trait for him. All he said was that the ultrasounds showed that structurally my ovaries looked fine and he did not find any endrometrius (sp?) when he did the hysterectomy.  Should I be concerned??
