Hormonal Chemical Treatment

Another US on the way and I'm frustrated.  Not because of the lack of doctoring, but because I don't know what to do.  Basically with my history, the only reason they are holding off the Hyst is because I'm only 26 and have no children.  My ovaries are WAY over-sensative form cysts and possible new endometriosis and the bc I'm on isn't controling pain. (I've been in pain everyday for 5 years and counting) they are trying out another bc, but if this doesn't work my only option is going back on Lupron.  Since this is hormonal chemical treatment, how long can I be on it before it is dangerous?  The last time I was on it (6 months) it was horrible and I can't imagine being on it for years.  But, if I don't do the lupron, the endo and cysts could do extensive enough damage for me not to have kids anyway.  My biggest fear is that my family is "homone sensative" and the therapy could be doing worse things for me.  My grandmother's cancer was caused by hormone treatments/imbalances.  Has anyone else been in this situation?

Thanks for the suggestions.  When I was on Lupron, it did control my symptoms/pain, but the side effects were extreme.  I gained about 70 pounds, had mood swings and my husband said that I was a totally different person when I was taking it.    I might have my left ovary taken out.  It has caused me the most trouble (and is the most damaged).  I guess it depends on what the US shows on Feb. 6th.  Funny how I hope they find something, so I can start to have a normal life.  I'm also seeing a GI specalist to try and figure out what is causing my nausea and other intestinal problems.

Are you being treated by a 'regular' gyn, or a fertility specialist?  If you are not already being treated by a gyn who specializes  in  fertility issues, then  you might wish to have a consult with one.  Often, these specialists can offer other remedies or treatments, so it might very well be worth a try.
