Post surgery UTI question

My urinary tract infection seems to be getting worse, not better.  I developed it after surgery from the cath and I am on Bactrim antibiotics x2days now.  The pain, pressure, spasms, fever all much worse today than yesterday. Should I call the hospital tonight or just wait till morning?  I mean, what can they do, right??  Help!!!!!!   Dawn

Hi Dawn, I feel your pain as I too had a uti after surgery.  Wish I knew about the uristat.  Anyway, call your dr if the symptoms don't go away.  Take care and drink lots of water.  Thinking about you.

It usually takes 72hours for the antibiotic to work. But i know that when i was pregnant with my little girl i lived with UTI infections and they put me on a med especially for that .It was not a regular antibiotics ,it made my urine florecent orange..but it took care of it..But if you are running fever with it depending on how high it is you might need to go back to see the doctor and let him check you out, because after having the catheter some times you bladder becomes dependent on it..I know how you feel with the bladder spasms..Not a nice feeling...Right now i am trying not to lose my mind..I think the lack of harmones is kickin my butt right now..I am starting to get aggrivated very easily today, for no reason what so ever, and i am so tired...I hope you get better soon..I think that i am going to call my surgeon tomorrow and tell her what is going on with me..
