not exactly ovarian cancer but...

this is the closest topic to my question, i was recently told by my doctor that i have a high grade abnormality on my cervix which is pre-cancerous and they scheduled an apointment for me to have some kind of lazer treatment only it is a month away and im thinking the reason for that is because it is a community clinic with a very high volume of patients and it is the only available time, should i get this treatment done sooner? my doctor said that it needed to be done right away and im concerned that it will become cancer if not treated sooner.
