the nurse I saw on tuesday said once they get me on my feet which will probs be thursday they will put me on HRT, then they gave me the choice of tablet form or patch, she said it will be trial and error to get the right dose etc for me, she did point out I'll have to stay on it if possible till I'm at least 52.I decided to try tablet form see how I get on with that. I actually work at the hospital where I'm having the surgery and upto now I have been very well looked after even if I am a Linen Services Supervisor lol
I was expecting to have my husband with me till I go down to surgery and be there when I come around, but they dont allow that now he can wait till I get called then he has to go home and phone later and come during visiting hours, we have already explained the our children they wont be able to see me on the wednesday dont have a time for surgery just have to be at the surgery centre at 12-15pm.
getting very nervous this is my last day at work then all together I will be off for the next 15 weeks hubby has 4 weeks off work to take care of me and the children (that should be fun) hehehe
But I know it has to be done along with the probs I'm having with my womb etc I would rather have the surgery now rather that wait to see if the cancer shows up for me it's the flip of a coin at this stage
I did get the option to keep my ovaries until I have the gene mutation blood test then if positive have another surgery to remove the ovaries then but decided to do it now.
thanks for for help
ann
Sounds like you are getting quite good care. The pre-op bowel prep is no big deal, honest. In fact you feel better after if you are "cleaned out". What gets you most is the nerves that you build up with the fear of the unknown. The nurses and doctors are great, they do this all day long and they know what they are doing.
I had a hyster in Feb and I didn't feel really normal til about 8 weeks, I still get tired easily. What are you doing about HRT?
Best wishes, Katie
