Draining a Cyst while pregnant

Hi there,

I have seen some earlier posts regarding large cysts while pregnant.  Mine was found at 8 weeks and has  been watched since.  Since, it has grown to 9cm and my Dr. is concerned.  I am now 28 weeks pregnant.  I have an appt to drain the cyst for now and then get it removed at delivery.  Can anyone tell me how they do this exactly.  It really worries me with the baby.  My Dr. is not sure if it is even on the ovary or not.  I am going to a Specialist who will be able to see it better.  Id appreciate any information.  THANKS!!!

Thank you Gatsby!

What a wonderful website. My Dr. was talking about removing the cyst, but then decided to drain it for now until I have the baby, then remove it.  I go in this Friday, I was just curious how the procedure is done and how safe it is with the baby.  If anyone has had this procedure, please let me know.  THANKS!

Glad to hear that you are going to a specialist.  There are several ladies here who have had this procedure and I am sure they will post shortly.  You and your baby are in my thoughts and prayers.  Godspeed
