Surgery date is scheduled...Nerves kicking in

Well, got back from my (nice, wonderful, relaxing) vacation.
Then had to come back to reality and schedule my surgery.
Surgery is May 17th (anyone else on that date? I'd love to have a surgery cyster!), pre-op the 15th.
What makes me a little more nervous than usual is that apparently my gyn wants a particular person as her 2nd doctor during the surgery. I had to schedule sx for a particular date since they only work together twice a month.
Gyn hasn't said anything to me about it, but her tech did when I was scheduling. It's not a big cyst (3.5 diameter), but the fact that she wants that particular specialist makes me a little scared.
But on a happy note, I love my insurance plan! I pay a $50 co-pay for the OR, and they cover 100% of everything else. There's one big worry off my back!
Also, one quick question, if anyone knows the answer. BC increases the risk of blood clots, right? (I'm a non-smoker)Blood clots are a complication after surgery... My gyn wants me to stay on the BC during surgery and after, but is there a higher risk of blood clots after the sx on the BC that I should be asking about?
Hugs to all going in for sx before me!

Since I know I'll be completely out of it on the 17th (pain pills make me really loopy), I'll be thinking of you on the 18th (when my brain is working again:)

Almost a surgery cyster!  My lap will be either 5/18 or 5/25.  Same as you, trying to coordinate two drs.  But I was the one who requested the gyn/onc be present, and my wonderful gyn was happy to go along.
