Hi, and thank you for the information of how you were able to access the site. So you kept getting kicked off when you used AOL to try to get there, too. Wow. Interesting. I will try what you suggested and then if that does not work, I will take up Mid by E-mailing her and getting the link. I am going to have a chance to try to do this on Sunday. Wish me luck! Mary

Hi Mary.  Trust Mid on the link.  She is The Web Master.
AOL must just suck canal water.

You are referring to the "gamma globulin" shot.  Did you know there is a debate around administering that shot during pregnany?  (some suspect neurological defects may result).

Isn't that UNREAL that your doctor didn't tell you that you were Rh negative.  They used to say the shot had to be admininstered after each delivery, and that you (and babes) might be safe for the first two pregnancies.  I don't recall that they gave the shot half way thru pregnancy until more recently.  My mom was Rh neg and was told not to have more kids (her choice anyway after me and my brother).  But I don't honestly remember ever reading that it interfered with conception; just carrying to term and/or the survival of the child after birth. In your case, is sure is an interesting question to ponder though isn't it.  They used to call resulting babies "blue babies" and they died a few days after birth.  Terrible eh.  I don't think it would have triggered other female problems, but who knows?  Sure interesting.... How long ago was your friend's baby born?
Hope you have a nice weekend, Love, Katie

I usually stop by around 6:45 - 7:30 am (eastern standard time) before the kids are up and the madness starts.  Sometimes I check in around 3:00 pm (eastern standard time) too.  Hope to talk to y'all!  I'll try to get there this weekend - kinda busy with softball and baseball.

Oh good I am glad you guys could help Mary as I was hoping she would be on.  I have a question about the chat - do you know if someone is around and in the chat or do you just sort of yell in "hey anyone here"?

When you show up the people that are already there see that you have dropped by and they say hello...then you just kind of sit there and look over what was being discussed... then type away.... we are women, we can carry on 7 conversations at once!
It is interesting with all the different times zones...  The trick is to stop by when others are already there, so you get a conversation rolling!  I noticed not much chatting lately, hence the post.
See you there soon!

Thanks so much. I hope to get a chance to try again tonight. I am looking forward to getting set up and I soooo appreciate the advice.

And, Yes....T-Tapp is awesome, she is awesome...and, don't mean to get so personal, but on this site it is okay, right??? I may have found a way to take care of the urinary incontinence (sp?)  issue that has plagued me for eight months. One of her exercises should do the trick. The exercises she has put together work very quickly (very interesting why, but I am on my way to work...so, another time for explaining...or just get her stuff!!!! It is great) and I have noticed a difference in the incontinence arena already....no surgery for me??? Yippee.

Off to work. Later, Love, Mary

Ok I am signed up and joined and all but when I try to enter it tells me that it is a members only site and I have to join - which I have already done - but it doesn't give me an option to log in.  Anyone else having this problem?

Hi you guys. I am tryinggggg....really. I cannot access the site. Everytime I try to sign in if I enter through the MSN website, I get kicked off line. Every time I try to put the address of the Battalion in the browser, I get kicked off AOL and sometimes I even have to restart my computer.

Once I get on the site if I just go to Groups at msn, am I supposed to actually sign in and will it know that I want to go to the Battalion? since I signed up by putting the battalion address in the browser line the first time I accessed the site after Dian told us about it.

I also tried browsing through the groups looking for ours...man, there are a lot of groups! I hoped that if I could find it that way then I could try to sign on then. When I tried to search groups, I put in the name and it said that nothing showed up. GRrrr...... I want to join....Do you think it is not AOL compatable? I know that is probably not the case, but, although I know a significant amount of computer stuff, much of it is self-taught, or learned from a dear neighbor/friend...but, this one escapes me. And, as Katie said....and, I paraphrase, "Where is the CHILD when you need her???"

Well, any thoughts? And, Mid, so kind of you to offer your address to me if I need to Email for help. I might have to do that after all.

Ok, totally different subject now. I think I got an answer yesterday that I have wondered about for years.

My husband and I have been married for 25 years and we have one child. We'd hoped for another, but it didn't happen and we settled nicely into a family of three. However, it always nagged at me as to why a second child never came. I did natural family planning since I had problems with the pill, so I was very aware of my body and its functions. We never saw a fertility specialist, and after awhile, just decided to let the dream of two go....

So, I am Rh negative, husband is positive. Daughter is positive. Thought I'd chosen a good doctor. When daughter was born, the nurse came in a day and a half after the birth with a shot explaining that since I was negative, I needed it to protect myself from problems with further pregnancies. I was shocked. Didn't even know that I was neg. The nurse was surprised, too, asking if the doc ever explained it to me. Ah, no.

Since then I have read that a shot is given half way through the pregnancy and then at birth...my friend (whose kids are a little older than my daughter) got the first shot 1/2 way through the nine months and the second shot as the placenta was leaving her body!

So, I have always wondered if I should have been given a shot half way through the first (and only) pregnancy. Or, I wondered if this halfway thing was given only in second pregnancies in women who are neg. and have already given birth to a positive baby. But, yesterday while talking with my friend, she said she had the shot 1/2 way through and at the end of the pregnancy....unlike me who had it a day and a half AFTER the birth and that was all. (I know I am repeating myself, sorry) So, I am wondering if I have just finally figured out why I was unable to have a second baby, since my blood was contaminated and would not accept a positive baby.

I just realized this is turning into a "Mary Book"....Say, if anyone has information on this, I would be interested. But, after hearing all of this, I got to wondering if maybe, just maybe, this mess up might have triggered other "female" problems?? I doubt it as I think Estrogen dominance was the culprit. But, I was curious.

Needless to say, I am sure...but, Thrilled to have the one kidlet...she is a gem.

Well, I am not sad, just surprised and on yet another mission to make sure that women know their blood type and keep asking lots of questions, Right???

Hi Mary!
I have been watching for you ... ZZZzzzZZZZZzzzZZZZ
SO glad you checked in (finally lol)!
I was afraid you must have had "issues" getting rolling.
Hmmm... not being in the least able to concentrate, I just know that MID will come along and help you.... she is terrific!  Me, I just slam around on the site til something happens.  I would however cry if I had to reinstall anything!!!
I tried to be just Katie but those names were taken so I used the old one...
Yes you should sign up for a hotmail address. Just go msn.com and follow the prompts I believe. I say, ignore credentials, just lie whenever it asks you anything. Same way as I got my last job ha ha.  We do have our hotmail addresses on there, and some of us other ones too, but they are private to us...you need your password to get into the site after you are set up.  Maybe it just asks your screen name twice because it has menopause symptoms too.
You can also get rolling with messed up screen names and stuff and then edit them later.
I am not a better woman than you BTW!!
Mid can tell you if you need to download any software, I already was MSN friendly with hotmail, so I can't remember, you might need to do some but it is safe, it's OK to do. Only takes a second.  It will tell you what to do.  Don't think so much!
Just set out to do it when you have some time..  Jot down a few notes beside you if that helps.  MARY, IF I CAN DO IT YOU CAN TOO!!! Trust me, I just bang around til something happens (dangerous I know).
Glad to hear you are OK.  Oh, we post messages too, kinda like here, only no censorship!  yaaaay.
THAT is funny about TT, I saw your post about her on the exercise forum and looked at her web page.  I had never heard of her, but I thought, Holy Dinah this woman is awesome.
So I am off to soak but I promise we will get you rolling... MID, MID....???? Where are ya...?????
Lots of love, Katie

Hey Katie,

I am glad you posted this comment because I have a (probably strange) request or question about the site.

As you might remember, I am "almost" signed up over there. When I clicked to get started after registering, I got kicked off line and had to restart my computer, so I got a little...okay, scared... to try again since I lost some of my computer confidence last year doing another project when I lost AOL and had to reinstall.

But, I will try again. Yet, I was wondering about something.

When I first signed up I was hoping to use the "Mary 53" name since that is what is familiar to everyone. After I typed that, it asked me again to put my screen name in. I got confused at this point. I ended up adding my Email address, which is fine, but would not make me recognizable to the group. I could not tell if I would be considered "Mary 53" or my Email address...it kept referring to me as the address and Mary... was nowhere to be found.

Plus, it seemed to me that someone on this forum mentioned an email address at "Hot mail" which was also a choice I could have made as maybe either a screen name or an alternative Email address. All of these things were referred to as "credentials." HELP HELP HELP. If you can figure out what I am even asking, you are a better woman than I ...(But I think I have long suspected that anyway!!!)Also, at this point, I have not had to download any new software for messaging. I do use AOL, or AIM Instant messaging, but I know there is a specific one and maybe a download for MSN.

I have a feeling I have made this way too complicated. But, if you can offer guidance, I would love it.

I am off to bed. Hope you and everyone else are doing well. Have not posted in a while, but I do check into the boards. Extra busy, but doing okay.

I saw Theresa Tapp at a lecture/book signing the other night in Minneapolis. She is on her book tour.   If you don't know about her, go to her website at T-Tapp.com (for Theresa Tapp). With your commitment to exercise/aerobics, you would love her. She explains the why, and not just the how, in exercise and it is all about the lyphatic system, which is so cool...and why I love my rebounder. Okay, I digress. Cheers, and thanks ahead of time for any help. MARY
