Welcome to the Forum DiverGirl! I am a diver too if you mean scuba! I am so glad you are seeing the ONC! I have had recurring, rupturing cysts pretty much since I hit puberty and your pain is not consistent with that! I am well familiar with it and it generally subsides within 3 days. You will have so much more information tomorrow and I will look for your post! Mary V.
THANK YOU I JUST DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO. THE DR. DID GIVE ME PAIN MEDS BUT THEY JUST MAKE ME SLEEP. HARD TO TAKE CARE OF 3 KIDS IF YOUR SLEEPING LOL I HAVE AN APPT ON MON 15TH W/ GYN/ONC. IS IT NORMAL TO STILL HAVE PAINS LIKE THAT(SHARP STABBING PAIN)? I MEAN THE DR SAID I HAD A COUPLE RUPTURE BUT I STILL HAD PLENTY MORE HE DIDNT SAY HOW BIG THEY WERE OR ANYTHING. I'M KINDA LOST AND CONFUSED. I'M SORRY TO KEEP BRINGING IT UP BUT I JUST DONT KNOW WHATS GOING ON. THEY REALLY DIDNT SAY MUCH EXCEPT THE ONLY WAY TO TREAT IT WAS TO HAVE THE OVARIES OR HYSTERRECTOMY DONE. IS THAT A NORMAL DIAGNOSIS?
Tascha said it all....find a gyn/oncologist.....he will be able to help as the female reproduction disorders are his specialty.
If surgery is in your future he is the surgeon you want as YOU HAVE ONLY ONE CHANCE TO GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME....you need a gyn/oncologist for your issues.
Peace

Welcome! Just let me tell you that 99% of ovarian cysts are BENIGN. However with your family history, you would be better off with a gyn/onc as they are specialists. The pain from a ruptured cyst is horrible and can last for days. Has your dr. given you any pain meds?? Please get the 2nd opinion with the gyn/onc. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Godspeed
