Ovarian scared

Hello
I am a 48yrold who has never been pregnant , have pcos but up untill recently the only problem i have had to deal with concerning pcos is not being able to have a baby ...Went through the whole proccess of trying ,including the meds and had ovarian wedge resection to reduce my left ovary, also had a large fibriod removed, after it was found that i has massive amounts of adhesions which caused my left tube to attach itself to my bowl .It was then removed .
2 years ago threw routine exam  found  a simple cyst on right ovary,it was left and watched  2 yrs it  has grown  now 13cm by 8cm by 5cm,up until 3mons ago thought i was feeling no sympt but  been having dizzy spells & serious indigest over last yr and never had this prob b4,now i am nauseated all the time , i've  bothered my gp about the fact that both ovaries are hurting in 2 diff ways, right with simple lrg cyst, crowding pain, bladder and bowel  affected and  left ovary is having stab pains  getting worse daily..My Gp  looked back in my U/S hist (1yr) found  a complex cyst on  left ovary.
My quest . seen a surgeon who was very stand offish about  surg said  the wait is at least 6months , i find this appauling ..
Should i be seeking another DR.,am i wrong for not wanting to sit around in pain and discomfort with const bladder/ bowel pressure pains, sex,way to painful, constant nausea and indigestion...dizzy spells  another 6 months? ca-125 was 5 BTW, Also ,is  any increased risk of oc in having 2 types ( simple & complex) of cysts .Please help me out with some answers ...feel very much deserted.
Thank you all

You know the old saying ..becareful for what you wish for or push for .

I explained my concerns and feelings to my gynie and she listened quite well and when it was her to speak ...what a mouthful she had.
Because i have had extensive surgery in this area in the past ..I have massive amounts of adhesions and to her this was the biggest worry of all..she says al my past mri's show kaos eruptong in my pelvis..parts of my bowel , stomach  all of my reproductive organs and  possibly part of my liver have been effected and will more than likely have to be removed..
The surgeon she sent me too as she knows is very lacking in personality but is very skilled in dealing with this type of damage. But because of the time restraints on her  she is sending me to see the head of surgery at St Mikes here and since this is the hospital I had all the intitial work and reconstructions done .my waiting time should be greatly reduced and they will have all the specialists i need under one roof, also she is recomending a gyno onc to be present. Will let you know when i have had a cosultation with this new doctor and when my surgery will finally happen .Takecare all

Hello Ladies ...
Just wanted you to know , my GP has booked and MRI for me on june 26th and is working to move that date up even closer and my gynie has agreed to see me today to discuss this further.
My gynie is not my surgeon ...but she recommended the surgeon(lemmon) that said at least 6months wait because of backed up OR schedule..this is unexceptable and cruel I think .
I will ask for a new surgeon and prefferably a gynie oncoligist at  the very least have one available.
Must admit this morning started to feel very blue ..like what i was going through was so unimportant. Was just about ready to throw the towel in and let whatever will be ..be.But my docs both got back to me right away..so lets hope somnething good comes from all of this.

Wish me luck with my gynie..

Thanks again for all your support .
I  will keep you updated..

Absolutely listen to the ladies and get a 2nd opinion.  This is your body and you know that something is not right.  Remember that 99% of ovarian cysts are benign, however this does not mean that you can ignore your symptoms.  Please get the medical attention that you need.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.  Godspeed

Thanks you sooo much for your words of wisdom. I thought 6mons had to be wrong .I'm in Canada and healthcare is suppose to be fair to all here . But I think this surgeon i was referred to is a lemnon.I am in sooo much pain can't sleep on either side (probably adhesions being disturbed by all this) and i have other probs..had both knees replaced and they aren't  good ( got hit by a drunk driver ) ..so sleep on front or back is out..been sleeping in my lounge chair straight up most of the time and i'm tired all the time , energy  level is down down down and dropping. I cried when surgeon said 6mons and i'm a tuff ol bird..had 27operations to recontruct my legs told i would never walk and i'm dancing now ...so not easily upset....But that really  upset me..
Had 3yrs of peace and finally had all the time in the world to spend with my wonderful son (adopted at birth now 14)...
and now this..
Going to make appt to see gynie asap and demand either a new surgeon and or a speedy surgery.

Should i ask for the new one to be a gynological oncologist ?

This is a wonderful place/forum ..So happy you are all here and brave enough to support me/ one another.I  don't feel so alone on this anytmore.
Thank you again

I also agree you should get a second opinion.  I have a 4cm simple cyst and my gyn told me I could wait and see what happens or have surgery and have it removed as he says the odds are not in favor of it going away on its own and that it can get bigger and (don't know if I am saying this righ) go into torsion (where the tube will twist), leave me in great pain and then have to do emergency surgery.  I choose to have it surgically removed and will do it one week from when I met with him.  I could have done the wait and see, but the problems I am having and the pain I am dealing with is not worth the wait as far as I am concerned.

If your gut is telling you something your dr is not, go with the gut.

Hi Lex..... as like fae said I would be finding another Dr and don't take no for an answer until they look at it.  I had my first US 2 -3 weeks ago and found a complex cyst, I am lucky enough to have a wonderful DR who wants to be sure what it is so I am booked in for surgery this week.  Please don't wait any longer.  Take care and let us know how it goes! ~ Kerrie

Hi there Lex!  I'm new to all this myself, so don't think that I can help with the medical part of your question, but I would Definitely get a second opinion.  Six months is much too long time to wait, I would think.  Let us know how it goes :)
