'Complex Cystic lesion' Very Scard! Please help Me Calm Down!

Hi there, I found this site after my panic searching about what my US report showed.

I went in for my routine Pap a couple weeks ago and I mentioned to my gyn about my last period being about 5-7 days later then normal and some tenderness i was having in my bladder area, she did an internal with her finger (is that what you call a pelvic exam) anyways she said she couldnt feel any cysts.

She also checked for bladder infection and that was neg.
She then sent me for a pelvic US a couple days later.

The next week i called the office only to find my gyn left for 2 week holidays the day after she saw me so i went to the Urgent care to ask for my results ... anyways the dr in there showed my the results and said thatmy gyn will decide what she wants to do from there.

Ok so my symptoms are very sore lower back both sides and middle, tender lower ab center, and left and a bit on the right. I have also had my right ovary removed 8 yrs ago when they found a begin tumor on it.

Can anyone make out what this result means im freaking out and have very bad anxiety thinking the worst is about to come! The ativans are only able to calm me down a little.

Here is the repost
"Small Complex Cystic lesion approx 3.9cm, with thick echogenic wall is seen in the left adnexa, likely related to the ovary.
No mass lesion or abnormality is seen in the anteverted uterus approx 89x46x33mm. Endometrium is within normal limits approx 7mm.

No mass lesion or free fluid is seen in the pelvis or abdomin."

Sorry so long but anyonme have any positive thoughts on this?

Thank you

So do you think that all this tenderness across my lower abs form left to right could all be from the cystic lesion on my left side?

Like i said before i was diagnosed with crohns about 15 yrs ago and have had no trouble at all for the past 8 yrs and now im thinking maybe its the cyst causing the tenderness in my lower right side and me thinking its the crohns when realy its not?

My gastro dr did a cat scan because i was complaining of the tenderness and he just wanted to check things out and a mass was found which he says is related to my crhons but maybe that mass is just that ... just that meaning the crohns which is there and always has been but has been in remisssion and these cramps tenderness stuff is all from the cyst and not the crhons at all?

Gees i sound like a nut huh?

Those little cysts can wreak horrible hormone changes! I had a 3.5cm complex cyst on my right ovary removed on 5/17. I had icky mood swings (I'd go from happy to sad to 'postal' on everyone around me for no reason), ache in the lower back, ache in the abdomen over the ovary, a weird period (the rest cause by BC pills), tingling feeling in the ovary, and hip and leg aches. All from one little icky cyst. So yes.... they can mess you up :)
For some definition... Complex means anything that isn't just fluid (like a regular ovulation cyst would be before it releases the egg). Cystic just means there is fluid in there, just not all or it wouldn't be complex. Lesion is just the term for anything noticed that's where it shouldn't be.
This could be anything from a hemorrhagic cyst (a normal ovulation cyst that didn't release the egg and bled into itself...those tend to resolve on their own), a dermoid (same thing, but the cyst starts growing the tissues, etc that the female is responsible for, like teeth and hair), or endometrial or "chocolate" (where the cyst is filled with endometriosis). Dermoids and chocolate cysts have to be removed... they do not resolve on their own.
However, most gyn's do the watch and wait, since there is no real way to tell without actually looking what type it is. A hemorrhagic cyst will resolve on BC or on it's own. The other's won't, and the watch and wait is a way to either confirm or rule that out.
Hang in there...

Linda thank you for replies it is helping .... is this also normal to feel tender not pain but tenderness type sore when i stand and raise each leg into my tummy area?

I am such a mess this past week its affecting my family as i cant seem to concentrate on anything else other then my health and the what if's.

There is another thing i will mention which is unrelated to the ovary but i also was diagnosed with crohns diease about 15 yr ago and have been symptom free for the past 8yrs (since i had my son via c/s and they removed the right ovary)

Anyways i also went to see my crohns dr about the soreness and he sent me for a Cat Scan ... when i caled him about the results he said there showed a mass in the small intestine which of course also freaked me out ... he said he is sure it is just the crohns acting up and said he will go over the scan with another radiolgist as he didnt agree with the result the 1st radiolgist wrote and mentioned something about lymphoma which i read up was cancer!

He then called me the next day saying it was inflamtion of the crohns and put me on some meds and said to come back in a month and he would do another cat scan .... so now i cant get out of my mind that its something bad over there on the right side where the crohns is.

My mom and hubby keep saying if it was something bad he would not have me come back in a month he would have me get further testing or send me to someone else ..... do you think the dr gastro specialist is more likely right then the radiolgist?

I cant stop crying over this whole mess.

Yep cysts can press on nerves and the hormonal disturbances it can cause can also give you aches.

Thanks linda for your quick reply!

So do you think this could also be the cause of my achy lower back and crampy upper abs? Also I am pretty tender when i press my lower ab almost just above the pubic bone area?

Firstly, most cystic lesions are 99% benign. Second, ovarian cancers are usually greater than 5 cm. My cyst was 3.8 cm and benign, taken out yesterday. Attached to the tube as it turns out, not the ovary. Something that small could simply be a fluke in ovulation and since you had menstrual disturbances, this is more likely to be a corpus luteal cyst gone awry. They usually resolve in a few menstrual cycles.  You are doing no harm at all by waiting for your doc to come home from holiday, trust me on this. She will probably watch and wait for 2 months to see if it resolves. If it changes or grows, she'll go from there. You will be fine during those 2 months.
