high CA125

by susie2222, Jan 12, 2004 12:00AM
I'm athletic, strong, appear to be very healthy.  My CA125 was in the high 90's 6 months ago, and the same last week.  I had external & trans-vaginal ultrasounds after both.  I have a small ovarian cyst, no change.  I also have uterine fibroids, no recent growth.  Periods stopped 6 months ago at age 50 (I went on HRT after I couldn't sleep).  Both my mother & sister had full hysterectomies at age 40 due to large fibroids.  My mother died of colon cancer at 80, as did her mother.  My colonoscopy was clear.  What steps should I take next?  Thanks.

I have ovarian cancer and had a total hysterectomy in February and completed 9 rounds of chemo therapy in November and my CA 125 is still over 200.  When my cancer was detected my CA 125 was 300 and after surgery and it dropped to 200 and then when I started chemo it dropped for 2 months and then continued to rise.  It was never normal.  I have had 2 cat scans with no sign of cancer.  Does anyone have this?
