waiting for diagnosis (OV mass) bleeding just doesn't stop

I have been diagnosed as having a 9cm mass on the right ovary. I am 45, had three children, and have been bleeding since August 4th. That was reason for docs visit, bleeding still not stopped. Heavy, sometimes, to the point of considering ER but as a Scot and used to keeping quiet about suffering (!!) just stayed home. I am anemic and feeling pretty **** and scared to death of my upcoming visit to the ob/gyn. My sister lives in Texas, me in Canada, and she demands I request a specialist  but that's not how it works here. My CA125 was 'normal'  11  I think (I peeked at the document) as he didn't tell me what it actually was just said 'normal'.
I have had pain in my right side, pain in my hip, bottom/tail and with bowel function, a little bladder incontinence and the uterine bleeding, apart from thatI  feel a little fatigue. I had bloodwork done for fatigue about 10 months ago but they found nothing. I feel like i am going crazy because the symptoms are bearable but I still feel really not very well. Has anyone else felt like this? I am so afraid.

Hi there,

About the bleeding, I would suspect that you might have fibroids in your uterus. Has that been checked yet?    I have 2 fibroids in mine that cause heavy and prolonged bleeding.  I have an enlarged uterus (12 week pregnancy size) becuase of the fibroids.  A friend of mine recently had a hyterectomy because of fibroids in her uterusas well. She had been bleeding that would not stop because of them as well.

The symptoms you describe with the exception of the bleeding sound exactly the same as I have with my ovarian cysts....the hip pain in the worst!   I never thought my cysts caused the prolonged bleeding though...I've always blamed the fibroids.  But I suppose the cyst could be the cause as well.  Hope your doctor will be able to help.

HI Canadian girl - I am too, but in Hawaii with a 7.2 complex cysts on my l ovary, waiting ........but have decided NOT TO wait any longer until Jzn for a 2nd ultrasound, Imt taking charge of myself and seeing a specialist in Honolulu   I was scheduled to fly home to BC Dec 3rd and will find out from my Dr this week what the waiting time is for seeing a gyn., and surgery....doesnt sound good, could be months, is that what you have been told? I would REALLY LIKE to know what the gyn tells you about waiting for surgery - could you please let me know as I too, have to make a decision have it here or back in BC.  I know our system is just awful there in some places.  What province are you in???   Try NOT TO WORRY the percentages are in our favour.......remember that, Im working on it, I have only known 10 days about this *)(*)*) cyst myself, and yes it is a worry weather we try to or not. Its just human nature. I agree, the bleeding sounds like uterine fibroids they are usually always benign, if huge, have to come out and your problems there are solved forever.

Post back when you can.....hope this helps, you are not alone.
