Yes we did tell my daughters doctor that what she had diagnosing for 4 months turned out to be OVCA level 3. The gyn/onoco picked it up after ordering the correct tests and she had her surgery 6 days later. All the GasX in the world won't cure cancer. The more pro-active wonem become with their health care the better informed these "un-informed doctors" will become. Good Luck to you
My personal experience is they (Gyn's, GP's, Gastros, want to simply call this particular complex of symptoms "probably IBS" upon an initial visit. Yes, we must all be persistent and self-educated and I think the proactive and correct thing to do would be to kindly advise any previous doctors of an Ovarian Cancer diagnosis should that be the final outcome. The more cases they see the more they can hopefully recognize earlier in the future. This is one of those "important teaching lessons doctors must receive."
