I had surgery for Ovarian cancer in January 2004.  I was diagnosed in November with the disease.

Because the tumor was throwing blood clots, two to my lungs which were almost fatal, we had to

wait several months for the operation.  However, even with chem., my ca125 was800 when I was

diagnosed, and dropped to less than 300 after two rounds of chem., I was still throwing clots

(even on blood thinner, another story a cumadin failure).  Survived the operation ca125 dropped

to 90 two weeks after the operation, 24,30,36,17 and the last treatment 8. Had a ct scan and there

was a suspicions “blip” on the scan.  On Megestrol 160 mg daily.  I see that it is use primarily for

metastatic breast cancer and metastatic endometrial cancer.  The Dr. explained that the “blip”

could be tissue or a cyst and that all his examinations have been normal. . I haven’t been able to

find any information about ovarian cancer and a link with endometrial cancer.  Is this usual?  I am

hoping of course that this is a precautionary measure.
