Is it Ovarian Cancer?

by Roe22, Sep 05, 2004 12:00AM
Hi I am a 24 year old female and two months ago I started to get sharp pains on my right side and I had a fever of 103.  I went to the doctor and they sent me for a catscan.  They sent me home and said I had the ful.  Two days later I was in so much pain I could not walk.  I went to the emergency room and they did another catscan.  This time they found an acute appendicitis that had to be removed quickly (i got my period during the surgery.  I spent two days in the hospital and came home.  Three weeks later i had pains again (right side)and went back to the doctor.  This time they found that I got a bladder infection from the surgery.  I felt fine up until Friday.  I began to feel the sharp pains again, the bloating came back, and so did the frequent need to urinate. I called the doctor (AGAIN).  He told me to get to the emergency room quicky.  They gave me another catscan last night, urine test, and blood work.  My blood and urine came back fine but they found two bilateral cysts.  One on my left side and one on my right (iam due for my period wed.).  I have been on birth control for a little over a year.  I never had these pains before the sugery.  Did the surgery I recently had bother the one on the right and thats why the pain is only on the right?  Are bilateral cysts a sign of ovarian cancer?  Iam going for an ultrasound and pap tom. and I am so worried its ovarian cancer. Do you think the pain from the cysts was mistaken for an acute appendicitis?  I find it very odd that I am still in pain (not as much) after almost eights of having surgery. Thank you
