Endometrial polyp and CA-125

by JodyE, Sep 23, 2004 12:00AM
Can an endometrial polyp cause elevation in serum CA-125? I'm 46, had breast cancer at age 40, and have begun regular screening for ovarian cancer because I fall into a "high-risk" group. First serum CA-125 reading was 52; second reading 1 month later was 75. Ultrasound showed normal ovaries, one small fibroid, and a probable endometrial polyp. Could the polyp be causing the elevation?

Many thanks.
