UNPROTECTED SEX WITH SOMEONE DIAGNOSED WITH PROSTATE CANCER

by jkinga, Nov 30, 2006 12:00AM
ARE THERE ANY RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH HAVING UNPROTECTED SEX WITH SOMEONE DIAGNOSED WITH PROSTRATE CANCER. CAN ANYTHING BE TRANSMITTED WITH THE SPERMS? CAN CERVICAL OR OVARIAN CANCER RESULT? MY PARTNER WON'T ASK HIS DOCTOR AND I AM CONCERNED.

As far as I know there is nothing "catching" about prostate cancer. Certain diseases can be transmitted in sperm ( HIV among them) but I do not know of any research about the relationship of prostate cancer to cervical cancer. What does have a connection is HPV , which has two types of the virus that have proven negative outcomes, one is to transmit genital warts and the other is believed to cause cervical cancer.

I am not a medical doctor however, and I think you need to find a physician on medhealth who can be more precise.

Cancer is NOT contagious.

Thank goodness! What about having sex during cancer treatments?

Cancer is not an std.  If he feels well enough, bang away.
