Hello,
about 18 months ago I went to a birthday party. After coming home the same night (late at night) I woke up next day with a fever. After a couple of hours it got worse since I was having extreme chest pains while breathing, moving, walking etc..
After going to the emergency room, the test showed that I had pneumonia. I was prescribed antibiotics for a week and was suppose to see my doctor after that. During the first 3-4 days I had to sleep sitting up since the pain during breathing while laying down was unbearable. After I finished my antibiotics, the pain lessened but did not disappear. I was prescribed another set of antibiotics. The second set helped a little but after 2 sets I still had chest pains. (slight ones.)
I was sent to a specialist where the following tests were done:
X-Rays
Cat Scan
Camera down my throat to view my lungs (can't remember the test name)
The X-Ray showed an area on my left lung (fluid as the doctor explained). AFter all the tests above, his answer was; "I don't know what's wrong with you". I still have the chest pains until today. Some days worse, some better. I basically only notice it when taking deep breaths. I can go about my life normally, play sports etc..
However, it is quite disturbing to have those pains. I read some articles on tuberculosis and am wondering if that's a possiblity.
Is there anything else I can do?
I live in Canada and the doctor performing the tests was one covered by our health insurance in a local hospital. Should I go see someone else?

If the pneumonia has completely cleared up and gone away then you should not still be having pain. Since your pain is continuing you should be seen by a lung specialist to determine the cause. When you go to this specialist be sure to take all of your chest x-ray films, CT scan films, and the results of the test where a camera was put down your throat to view your lungs. This test is called a bronchoscopy.
