chest neck and upper back pain involving sholder and upper part of arm near shol

by hopein2005, Nov 04, 2005 12:00AM
i have serious pain that involves both sholders and blades and upper part of arms .it stops on one side and seems to move to the other. at one pointe it only involved the right sholder blade upper part of arm and back of head where head and neck joins . now i also seem to hurt in my chest area when this happens. also it involves the right bottom part of my head where the head and neck joins this pain is very strong .i thought it was a pinched nerve with my sholders but now that my chest is hurting i am a little concerned

Yes, this does sound like a pinched nerve, causing both shoulder and chest pain.  You should see your doctor for this.  You will probably need an x-ray of your cervical spine.  Since it shouldn't be assumed that your shoulder pain and chest pain have the same cause, you should also have a chest x-ray.

I have a pain in my shoulder blade also! Right shoulder blade...when i raise my arm a certain way or pick something up..it feels like  it knocks my breath out..makes it difficult to breath..i've had this problem for a few years i was thinking it was a pinched nerve. do pinched nerves require surgery? if now how do i get rid of it..why would a pinched nerve feel like it's taking my breath out?

I too am experiencing pain in my upper back near or just below my left sholder blade.  The pain is most severe when I am looking over my right sholder, and raising my left arm (when backing up in my car).  Any suggestions?
