Throat, chest, back pains, flatulence

by colgoneclimbing, May 24, 2006 12:00AM
I've been wrestling with a dodgy stomach for a while now, but recently it seems to have come to a head. Recently i vomited and was concerned to see blood /something brown and clotted in my vomit. It's happened one more time - I'm 32, a very occasional drinker (and was a social smoker drink related-- i know..never regularly tho') Presently i feel like there is a swelling at the back of my throat (and a dryness). When i swallow food (which isn't painful) it often feels as if i am pulling a lot of air down my throat, which i reckon causes my flatulence (particularly belching) I'm also trying to keep the throat moist with saliva. Now when i take a spray for my throat it feels like the fluid goes down my bronchi... something wrong with the epiglotus? what is particularly worrying is that I'm getting pains in my chest & back. There's a sharp pain when i move in some ways as well.

My doctor treated me for excess acid in my stomach but the throat is still causing trouble. I've a lot of excess saliva which seems to play up with my throat.

I don't know... i'ts worrying me. I'm not weak or anything (i am conking out when i sleep mind you - and getting up is a struggle) but the glands in my neck and behind my ears flare up at times. it's been a long term complaint in a way- i've often felt nauseous after eating - even when i was a teen. i'm going to look for an endoscopy but any stories, hints would be appreciated. Thanks, Colm

You will need to have a thorough exam by a doctor to find out the nature of the problem and the best treatment.  Having an endoscopy of your upper gastrointestinal tract could reveal the cause of your problems.
