copd/asthma/allergy,confused?

thanks for last response getting confused now and hope you may be able to throw some light on the situation.

problems with breathing and coughing, worse after diet coke, wine, soft drink etc (have now virtually cut out, i have had problems with neck swelling and breathing at night also (diet coke i think), but have had problems with ventolin, which makes my breathing worse before it gets better. I have also had problems with becotide (what i can only describe as a feeling that my lungs are breathing for me) not a typical symptom for me (usually breathing under pressure feeling). i know this all sounds mad!

usual peak flow between 400 and 450(highest 490), had a couple of mornings at 290 .

a typical morning has started with me taking the becotide(100) getting breathless, then taking ventolin breathing getting worse , and getting in a state , whereas i was ok before, i am now avoiding inhalers but need to still take ventolin.

i have had a spirometry test as advised, which showed 0% reversibility after 400mg ventolin. my notes on pc said copd, but i did not ask at time, so do not know whether this was test result. doctor said he had never seen anything like it in all his years and has referred me to a respiratory consultant, he is suggesting occuupational asthma because of previously stated latex allergy, but i cant see any pattern or connection, have had xray result unknown as yet.

my hayfever is making my problem worse (interestingly i have taken beconase since i was 16, same as becotide with no problems!), i also seem to have sore lungs

any ideas as ive no idea now??

Seeing the respiratory consultant is an excellent idea.  The fact that your pulmonary function did not improve after Ventolin® HFA (albuterol sulfate HFA inhalation aerosol) makes asthma less likely.  Not being a smoker makes COPD less likely, too.  The consultant should be able to help answer many of the questions you have asked and give you an appropriate treatment plan.  Observing you after you take the Ventolin® HFA (albuterol sulfate HFA inhalation aerosol) and Becotide® (beclomethasone dipropionate) might help a lot.  It is obvious that this is a complex and frustrating situation for you.  Hopefully, your next visit to a doctor will help a lot.

Gee Sandy, I think you need a whole complete work-up with a good specialist. Keep the forum posted. Would be interested to know what your outcome is. Good luck!

Hai, this is hemant.I was suffering from sinus allergy from past 5 years. I used to get conjugation. And was unable to concentration on my studies and focus on my work. I also suffered with hypoma. I was fed up with the allopathic medications which I had to take daily and get diagnosed regularly. So, I was in search of a physician who could treat me with the natural way and finally I found a website www.drraomd.com and met the specialist Dr.K.Rao. I have been taking the dietary supplements and the sinus problem has been completely resolved in two weeks. Now presently I don’t have any problem in respiratory that caused due to allergy. Ya truly I am really happy with the performances of the dietary supplements given by my specialist Dr.K. Rao. I am fully satisfied with his medications and I now I can concentrate on my studies. So now i feel great to have been cured with and find to help others in curing this as i know the suffering of it.
