chlamydia questions???

Hi Doc.

Firstly can I refer you to a post that some one added to a posting yesterday ( a posting by shotta added to by spydercomp01):

“This sounds ridiculous, but i was feeling the same way until today.. now i'm scared of something else.. my doctor said i could have gotten chlamydia from going down on a female because of the white spots on my tonsils. I thought it was just tonsillitis.. what is going on?”

Now, I posted earlier in the year as I had protected sex with a prostitute and I was worried about Chlamydia and gonorreah. I had a test done for Chlamydia and gon after 2 weeks exposure which was negative I then had unprotected oral sex given to me by my regular partner without me finishing. I still had doubts about std’s so I had a full screen done at 7.5 weeks all negative, then my regular partner developed a white single spot ( looks like a zit) on her tonsils she visited her gp who gave her amoxycillan 250mg four daily for 1 week, this initially cleared it up but it keeps reappearing, then it kind of pops and goes away only to return. After she developed this spot I went and got retested again for a full screen ( 5 months exposure) all returned negative again. I was just starting to settle down when I saw this post and it kinda freaked me out, his doctor has obviously told him that white spots on the tonsils could be Chlamydia,is this true?? I was not aware of condom failure but the prostitute took the condom off and performed masturbation on me so I can’t be 100% sure but I don’t think it failed.if the condom didn’t fail it is impossible to transmit to me  gonn,Chlamydia – Right?

Also could all the test results be wrong, could they be that inaccurate, have you ever known this? Do certain people always generate a negative result even when infected? Does Chlamydia affect the throat and could it be transmitted via 30seconds oral without finishing? Does this sound as though it could be either Chlamydia or gonnorreah? Would you recommend retesting ( again!!) I have had 3 negative sets!! I am hopeing you could offer some reassuring words as this has been going on for 4 months now. I should add that this spot was noticed after 3 months of giving me the oral sex. If chlaydia and gonnorreah affects the throat what would the symptoms be? If it makes a difference all the tests were carried out in uk GUM clinics. Thanks for taking the time to answer this post.

The exposures you describe were very low risk for either gonorrhea or chlamydia; your and you partner's symptoms don't sound like either infection (chlamydia rarely infects the throat at all, and gonorrhea causes no lesions or sore throat); although amoxicillin isn't recommended as standard treatment, it would clear most gonorrhea or chlamydial infections; and you had several negative tests by reliable providers (UK GUM clinics generally are excellent).  How much more reassurance do you need?

Bluntly, you don't have it and I'm not going to respond to further follow-up questions for clarification.  If still not reassured, go back to one of the GUM clinics.

yeah, that's the weird thing.. i was surprised when my doctor told me it could be chlamydia.  however, he told me while in med school a guy came in and had same symptoms (but he told the doc "i went down on a girl with chlamydia") soooo i think that's a little bit different of a story; the girl i went down on swears up and down she is clean... but he still tested me. probably just to be safe, i don't know?

and to the guy freakin out about this.. dude.. you don't have anything.. my doctor has been a doctor 20 years and has seen one case of this when the guy went down on a girl WITH chlamydia at the time.

I have chlamydia in the throat from going down on a women with chlamydia at the time, it was just a little sore throat, and a week of Doxycycline cleared it right up.

But, frnkbates, 3 sets of neg tests, you clearly don't have anything.  You're worrying too much.
