Left testicle, leg, and buttocks pain

I'm a 27 yo male who is who has been experiencing intermittant pain in left testicle, leg, lower abdomen, and buttocks.  Onset was sudden.  These symptoms began 2.5 months ago.  Blood, urine, swab tests came back negative for any STD (I have not engaged in sexual activity in over 6 months).  My PCP thought it was epididymitis, so he prescribed Floxicin for 10 days-pain did not subside.  This was followed up by two hernia examinations that were negative.  I began to notice that the pain in these areas would increase following running or situps.  So I went to see a sports physician.  X-ray and MRI were unremarkable for strain, growths, impingement, etc in leg, hip, and lower abdomen.  I'm now back to thinking that this is epididymitis and that I didn't take Floxicin long enough to see results.  I'm not sure what I should do next?  What do these symptoms sound like? Thanks-NNRC

Christ how glad I am to have found this.  Please bear with me on this I will get to the point.
About two years ago I was diagnosed with chlymidia (and treated with a weeks couse of Doxycycline) and since then have never quite been the same when passing urine.  I went back to my local GUM clinic on numerous occansions after this as i found myself in terrible pain just before I started to urinate and then found a burning sensation would occur while I was passing urine, but all my tests (swab AND blood test were all negative).  I myself was refered to a Urologist by my GP and had a camrea put down my penis but nothing was found.  I was told by the consultant that I probably had adhesions (little scars from the infection) in my penis which was causing the problem, I wasn't convinced so decided to go back to my GP to which I told him (get that I told him????) as I had read a similar site to this, that I may still have some sort of infection from the previous one as it can be several types of infection which may not show on tests.
Now at this moment I had developed the exact symptoms everyone is describing on this site, pain in my right testicle which then leads to pains in my leg and buttocks.  It sort of feels like a muscle strain or even a type of cramp!  I am going to make an appointment at my doctors and show him the symptons all you folks are having and will let you know how I get on.

I have small pain in my right testicle and upper buttock. I feel this pain after lifting some heavy thing or masterbates more than twice in a week. I am feeling this pain from 6 months. Testicle was hit  by  rubber ball while playing cricket. It pains like someone is pulling it from back. My right testicle is bigger than left one. Don't know. it's swelling or what????

I have the same problem, for 15 years and doctors can't find out why. My left testicles would pain so bad that the doctors had to remove it. The pain was still there after they removed the testicles. The pain would start in my groin and then move down my leg and up my lower back. The pain is out of this world mind blowing and would put me on the floor. To this date I have no problem making kids since my left testicle removed. But my Kaiser doctors tell me what's wrong. Also since only heave narcotics pain meds would stop the pain, they now have me laced as a drug seeker and don't take my pain serious.

My husband had the exact same thing.  They treated him for epidiymitis for that wasn't the problem.  He has a varicocele, values in veins were bad and the blood was flowing back into his testicules causing pain, swelling and abdomen pain, and butt pain.  His prostate was swollen from all the blood back flow.  He had embolization with coils to block the bad veins and all is good now.  No swollen prostate or testicules, no pain.  His pain was very bad, some days a 4, some days a 7.

I saw the Chiropractor last evening and my lower back was out of alignment significantly.  He adjusted it and I have iced my lower back over the last day now.  I have to say I am about 60% more comfortable than I was. He suggests a lot of ice when the testicals start hurting, especially on the lower lumbar and sacrum vertebrae. After icing, notice if the pain is diminished. He wants me to rest and ice and have another adjustment to see how far that gets me.
I am about 25 pounds overweight, and extremely muscle tight in the legs and hips.  Is this consistent with other people suffering from this?  I am optimistic that we may be on a path now to getting it managed.  I explored many of the websites you all have shared, and find that at times over the last several years, I have had each of the symptoms of pudendal nerve irritation. Will keep you posted.

Guess this is nothing new for all of you.  Just went to the Dr this morning and got angry, decided to get myself well instead of waiting on the rest of scienc to catch up.  My chiropractor first mentioned this over the last few months that I may be dealing with a nerve issue instead of a urology issue.  The two symptoms I periodically have besides the left testical pain which climbs into my back almost like a kidney stone, is chronic nausea and periodic burning when I urinate.  I have cut down on soft drinks and continue the medications.  Urologist wants me to have a CT next week but I am skeptical as to if it is a waste of time and energy.  Will report back on the chiropractor I see this afternoon.  Good luck gentlemen, it is no fun.  I have been dealing with this for several years.  I will ask the chiro specifically about the nerve disorder mentioned here.  Thanks, Happy Holidays.

Amazing.  I found this forum because I had some sudden left testicular pain, and was worried I had a recurrence of an inguinal hernia I had repaired 4 years ago.

Then my wife reminded me that I lifted a dresser mirror in a weird upright position.  It was a couple hours after that I noticed the first tinge of pain.  Then late that night, it hurt more after falling asleep on our (stiff) sofa.

When I sat down & thought about how this might have happened -- and why I couldn't feel any lumps or protrusions form the hernia or any testicular swelling -- I realized my lower back & left hip felt a little painful, too.

I'm thinking that those of you who have similar lower back/upper groin/testicle discomfort probably have a sciatica nerve compression or inflammation problem caused by improper sitting, or a minor lower back injury -- just like me.  I've had sciatica pain quite a bit, but the left testicle pain is new with this problem, but it's hard to argue that this all appeared 12 hours after improper lifting.

The chiropractor says good stretches & strengthening crucnhes and/or yoga will help.  When I was on that regimen, no problems; dropped it for a couple of months, and now I've got pain.

Pleased to be of some help. Here are a few web sites that might be of use. I live in the UK and there are very few people in this field (PNE) but if you are in the States there is a fair bit of research going on.

Dave,
I truly appreciate your feedback.  I had never heard of PNE before.  I researched it on the internet and it sounds like that might be my problem also.  I am going to discuss it with my doctor on my next visit but I'm wondering if he'll even know what I'm talking about since he hasn't brought it up before. Again,  I appreciate your and all other feedback on this site.

hey folks.
same symptons as all of you.
was being treated for prostatitis and dr. thought it had moved to testicles (as often does) creating epididymitis.
Currently on bactrum and doxy.  it has been going on for 5 weeks.
working out certainly does not help the situation.
i had the epidi. several years ago and it took some time for the symptoms to subside. i literally feel your pain.

Hello everyone, I've just read this page for the first time and feel I may have some relevant stuff for some of you.
I'm an airline pilot so like many of you sit for long periods of time. Three years ago I started getting testicular pain ,particularly in my left one. This pain over time has spread to my entire groin, in particular my perineum, pain down my leg to foot, mainly left, and lower back pain. It is present all the time but is far worse when I sit, to the extent I have been off work for nearly 5 months. I have had every test that a Urologist can do and more hands up my *** than I care to remember. I have had cameras stuck down my penis all to no avail.Basically I was diagnosed with Chronic non-bacterial Prostatitis whch appears to be untreatable.
Then I found out about Pudendal Nerve Entrapment which causes all the same symptoms. I am being treated for this at the moment with various injections in my back and buttocks. Things are improving a bit. It might be worth some of you looking up PNE, although it is a relatively new area.
All the best, you are not alone , and I probably like you am kneeling to type this !   Dave J

I have exactly the same symptoms - pain in the left testicle, buttocks (mostly left), and lower left abdomen. I had it for several months. Doctors are clueless.
On the top of that, I have a growing PSA, it grew 50% over the last year, and is now at 1.5. Taking into account the other symptoms, I insisted on a biopsy (it will be performed soon), though the urologist thought that it was still to low to warrant a biopsy.

In 1984 I did have a herniatded disk problem  It started with excruciating pain radiating down my left leg.  I was in the military at the time and the dumb military doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong with me.  I was sent to a specialist off base and the doctor know right away that I had a herniated disk.  I was put on bed rest for about a month and the pain subsided.  Since that time I've had numerous problems with back pain but nothing serious and it usually occurs when I over extend myself.  Do you think that this is the source of my abdomal and testicle pain?  If so, shouldn't it show up in some of the tests I've been having?  You also talk about semen.  My semen used to be milk cloudy but now it's somewhat clear.  I had charged that to me getting up in the years.  I gather that the MD behind you initials mean you're a doctor.  If so, what is you speciality?  I do appreciate your feedback.

Looks like the pain is not a big deal by itself. But any of you had chacked your sperm quality and quauntity? If there is a concern with this kind of pain, it would be here. If there is a damage on the testicle, infertility is a concern.

Also, anyone check your L5-S4  spinal CT or MRI ? If there is a disc herniation or spinal stenosis, you might have the symptom. If a disc herniation, you need to check with your Dr. for some solution. For it could bring serious problem in future.

Well.....I had another appointment on the 9th.  The doctor said that nothing was found to be abnormal in any of my tests.  I then said to him, "what you're telling me is that you have no idea why the pain is occuring".  He said, "that's exactly what I'm saying".  Well...anyway I haven't had any pain for awhile now but I know that it will re occur. In the meantime I have some pain pills that I will take when it happens.

A lot of this sounds very similar to what I've been going through for the last 13 months. Dr's say nothing is wrong with me. It all started with lifting a 500lb+ patient(I'm a fireman) in an unusual way. Except for the loose bowels I've got all the symptoms shown. MRI, CT, Bone scan, and X-ray's all negative. They have not performed any of the pelvic manipulation tests yet. Here is the link:

I also have been bothered by recurring left testicle and abdominal pain. When one pain occurs it is always accompanied by the other. I made a visit to the doctor back in July.  My blood was tested and I had an xray of my lower abominal.  I was treated with anti biotic medicantion and the doctor said he would call if anything showed up in the tests.  Well he didn't call and I thought the problem was fixed until lately it started recurring again. Last Wednesday I went to see another doctor. I had blood work did again and also I had a CT scan and an untrasound of my testicles. My pain re occoured on Friday and again on Sunday. On my nest appointment I'm hoping to learn what is wrong with me.  I will let everyone know the results.

Hey everyone in this group. I've had lower back problems for the past 25 years. there have been times when I would twist a certain way and my left testicle would hurt so bad that I couldn't even walk right. after a couple of years of putting up with this I found if I twisted my back like when you put your hands on your hips and twist the top part of your body and let it swivel at the hips the pain would go away. later in life I hurt my back by working in landscaping and I went to a chiropracter and he shared with me that the third vertibre also housed nerves that went to my reproductive system etc. i am also right now enduring a left testicle soreness and it is also coming with lower back pain. I too am one that dislikes going to any doctor because I've recieve more hurt than help from them. I've researched a little on the web and have found out that cancer is not painful in the testicles but any lump or bump should be checked out. I had a friend that just told me the other day that he had testicle pain too and believe it or not he too has had some lower back pain lately. I hope this helps and I'll check back to see if anyone has found help
