Cunnilingus Question

by loofa133, Aug 31, 2006 12:00AM
I have been searching the archives on this site and appreciate all of information.

My short story:

Fingered and gave oral to a woman on Sunday night for a few minutes. She appeared to be clean, no wierd smells, etc. While I was licking her clitoris and fingering her, some white-yellow mucus came out of her, something i've never seen before with women I have been with. At that time, I promptly stopped and washed my hands and face, gurgled some listerine and wiped my face down with some rubbing alcohol.

I asked her about it and she promised she had no STDs. She said sometimes, she has ph imbalances that cause small infections that are not stds and not contagious. She says she has been to the doctor about it before and there is no treatment.

Since that night, my penis has burned and my throat and gums have hurt. Throat has hurt more in the past day or so (2-3 days after exposure). I realize symptoms from STDs will not start hours after an exposure, so its most likely anxiety and hard brushing of my teeth and allergies.

A few quick questions...

1. Does her explanation of the mucus sound like something resasonable?

2. If I picked up an STD in my throat, does that mean the STD is now floating around my entire body. In other words, if I had Chlamydia in my throat, does that mean if I have sex with someone, but no oral contact, can I transfer Chlamydia through my penis even though the infection is localized in my throat?

3. Can STDs like Chlamydia be picked up through a cut in a finger, or do they need contact with a mucus membrane?

4. I assume, as you have previously told others, my risk of picking up an STD from this is negligble?

Thank you. I appreciate the answers.

1) There is no way I can tell whether the secretions you saw are normal or represent an infection.  Her judgment about it is much more reliable than your impression or my guess.  If she says she is in good genital health, almost certainly she is.

2) Chlamydia never (or only very rarely) infects the throat.  (CDC recommends against any testing for or chlamydia, and I agree.)  Anyway, it is extremely rare for someone to acquire an oral STD by cunnilingus; it almost never happens.  Herpes is the only real risk, and that's rare.

3) I am unaware of chlamydia ever infecting a cut.  Gonorrhea does so sometimes, but rare.

4) Yes.  With uncommon exceptions, oral sex is safe sex.

I think the doc will tellyou that your activity- oral on a woman, is very low, if not no risk.  I beleive he will say that Chlymidia is not transferred this way-that Gon could be, but unlikely- the infectionwould not float around- so penis issues, absent vaginal sex, should not come into play-

I would rest easy- but if you need to get a throat culture to rule out gon.  Syhp might take longer waiting period before testing, but this is rare. very rare

Yeah I didn't have vaginal sex with her or anyone since I was last tested for STDs.

There's a typo in my comment about CDC and testing for chlamydia. "CDC recommends against any testing for ORAL chlamydia, and I agree."

Wow, I bet she felt good about herself when you interrupted your sex play to wash your face with rubbing alcohol and gargle with Listerine.

There was no reason for that. You overreacted big time. Read this forum closely and get some education.

Thanks for the answers.

So just to confirm, in the event I contracted an STD such as Chlamydia in my throat could it be transmitted later by penis/vaginal sex or do bacterial STDs stay localized in the throat? So in other words, if I gave oral to a female there is a risk of transmission, but vaginal sex there is none in the event I had chlamydia in my throat?

Thanks

The answer is clear from my previous response.  Did you think I would change my mind?
