Is it oral herpes, please help me!??

Please help me doctor.

I woke up this morning and i noticed on my lower lip a big bump, after 10-15mins the bump went down. You cant see it anymore but if I touch my bottom lip I can slightly feel it.

On the inside of my mouth , on the hard base of the inside of my gums facing my tonuge i have a small canker sore which hurt like a canker sore then it went away and then i got another small one on my hard gum surface near by teeth.

Im really scared and really hope this is not oral herpes, can you PLEASE help me. I dont know if I am paranoid now and Im feeling like some kind of minor sensation burning on my lower lip.

Can this be anything?> I am so scared i dont feel like doing anything anymore..

What do you think caused that big bump on my lips then went after 15mins when i woke up? IM SO SCARED

When my wife when down on me last week, days later she got a sore throat and it hurt when she swallowed? Is this related? Is is a conincidence>?

please help me i am sooooo scared!!!!!!!

Herpes lesions do not swell up and go down in a few minutes, and oral herpes lesions are on the lips or elsewhere outside the mouth not inside like caker sores.  The transient lip swelling might be some sort of reaction to the canker sore, or you might have slept in a way that put pressure on the lip and produced transient inflammation.

And who cares if they have oral herpes anyway?  Half the population has it.  No big deal.  It it wildly nonsensical and irrational to be "sooooo scared!!!!"

In any case, whatever you have it not an STD, and this website is strictly limited to STD issues.  So no continuing discussion, please.

oral herpes is so common you shouldn't be so scared that you "cant do anything"

some estimates up to 80% of people have it. it's not really a big deal

I would just like to thank you doctor for your expertise advice, I will respect you and not post relating to this matter, only because you told me its not an STD.

I posted here in the first place because i was afraid it was. But because you have told me my swelling/bump/tingling of my lip has nothing to do with herpes, then I would like to THANK U VERY MUCH FOR UR HELP.

have a great day.

Be clear that I cannot say you don't have oral herpes, since half the population does.  I only say that the symptoms you describe are not typical of that condition.  If you remain concerned, see your primary health care provider.

yeah so stop freaking out....why is it that people who don't have it yet get freaked out as if they're going to die?  life goes on and everyone has something.
