Doc, Im a 23 year old male, never have an anal inter course with another male, Im straight, I have hpv and have genital warts in the penis, I can't check my anal organ, are there chances that i have warts in my anal area too?  Im scared doc.....

Regarding my question on an earlier post... I had have genital warts 4 years ago..... but it didnt reoccur untill now (appeared on  a different area)..... Is it possible that i have HIV that reactivated the warts? or was i reinfected with the same virus? I have had unsafe sex sometime last year and this year..... Im scared doc..... im about to take the HIV test next month (observing the 3month window period)..... And a lot of stuffs is messing with my head...... Ive been reading a lot of faqs and infos in the internet and a lot of em scares me..... I need answers doc..... Im dying to take the HIV test.....

Thanks for attending to my additional concerns.....

Although anal warts sometimes occur in heterosexual men, it's not common; if you can't feel obvious warts around your anus, you don't have it.  Forget it.

You may not post repeated questions.  Only a limited number of new questions is possible each day, so your unnecessary post has blocked somebody else with their question.  I deleted it.

If your warts went away and haven't obviously recurred, you can safely assume your body has cleared up the virus entirely.  The chance you have HIV is about zero, but since you're worried, get tested.  I agree with the advice from Englishman (below):  See a knowledgeable health care provider; don't try to figure out any health problem by online searching.

The chances that you have HIV from  a few unprotected sex sessions with other females is very, very low. Your HIV test will be negative, but have it done anyway as a routine health check.

I think that your genital warts could be either a recurrence or a new infection. There is no way to tell unless the HPV-strain of the original infection was determined (which it would not have been). It can not be a reinfectin with the same strain since you build immunity to it.

Either way, I would get the warts treated, double-checked that they are warts and not cysts or something else. Wait a few months, then move on and forget about it.

I am not a doctor but I think your anxiety and worry is not justified.

Good luck.

P.S. Don't bother with most of the stuff on the internet. You will end up (like I did) convincing yourself you have every illness under the sun. Go to a decent doctor, if you are not happy with the diagnosis, get a second opinion and then follow their advice.

Thanks Doc..... your advice really helped, I've been sleepless for quite some time now...... not after i found out about this forum and learned a lot of stuffs in layman's language..... and cleared a lot of stuffs for me..... But I'll take Englishman's advice too..... thanks very much..... Should I be ignoring my joint pains and muscle pains now?

1 more question..... it doesnt mean that i have HIV because i have genital warts right?  So genital warts recurrence is still possible after 4 years?

Again..... this is a wonderfull forum doc..... Thanks very much..... It really educated me and provided for a lot of information..... I'm really gratefull for this Doc..... your replies and positive response reduces my anxiety.

By the way..... I'm from the Philippines..... I don't have the right information about the HIV rate here in my country..... If the HIV situation here in the Philippines is the same as the U.S., then I can follow your ratio doc, 1 / 2000?

Thanks very much to Doc HHH and Englishman..... I've been acting like a dying and crazy person for months now...... thanks for shedding a piece of light and hope into my concerns..... I owe this forum a lot.

1. Genital warts does NOT mean HIV in any way.

2. Genital warts recurrence after 4 years is POSSIBLE, though unlikely (from my understanding).

Doc - which is more likely - recurrence after 4 years or getting a new infection with a different strain? I would assume a new infection since Joshua88 has had more partners since his last infection.

Englishman is right on all points. If you have had new sex partners in the past 4 years, it's a good bet you have been infected again with one or more HPV strains. But you probably will never get infected again with the strains that cause warts.

Getting HPV is normal.  Happens to everyone.  Not worth nearly the amount of energy you are putting into it. You need to read up on the basics of HPV, using a reliable source. Start with the article on HPV and genital warts in the link at the top of this forum, "STD Quick Facts and Articles"; and/or the CDC information at www.cdc.gov/std.

Doc and sir Englishman.....

Again, your comments and answers cleared another blured window in my head, thanks for the comments...... i really do appreciate all the effort of taking your time answering my concerns.....

....... It might be a recurrence after all..... but 4 years..... thats a lot of time already... Ive read in some of Doc HHH's posted  faqs..... that hpv would be cleared in 2 years max.....

Well..... I would have to disclose that i had have unsafe sex with sex workers here in my country for the past years..... And I'm aware that HIV could trigger wart recurrences..... I'm still somewhat confused sirs.....

Thank you again
