Herpes and Irritation

by needhelp5466, Mar 11, 2007 12:00AM
Hi. I am a 25 year old male. My last sexual intercourse experience was June of '05 and I've never had unprotected sex. In decmber of '06 I noticed a rash where my inner thigh met my testicle. this was the beginning of December. In the last few days of December i received a hand Job from a massage parlor. They never touched the rash Area. The rash would occassionally itch and coulnt help but itch it during sleep. On march 2 of 2007 I became worried and i had a full HIV and STD test. Everything came back negative. Then I went to my doctor and she looked at it and said it was a fungal condition and precribed an ointment. I asked her if it was herpes and she said no bc i tested negative and that shes seen this before not to worry. By the way it was an IgG test result. So I felt relieved. The ointment is working fine. I was so nervous that i kept reading this site and becme really paranoid. Now i feel a little tingle at the tip of my penis and i pee alot. Is this herpes or from being nervous? I masturbatd once daily for as long as i can remember but stopped before i decided to get tested. I havent masturbated in almost 12 days and i think theres a little precum at times. Why am i using the bathroom so much or fel the need to pee and what up with the precum (which isnt much at all)? Any help would be appreciated. I tested a year an a half after sex and the rash is going away. I never felt a tingle or leakage until a few days ago. Am I being too Paranoid and cauing it myself. Is it becuse i stopped masturbating?

To All Forum Users:

There was a software glitch and for several days a number of questions were misrouted to a server that did not post them properly. In addition, it appears that the automated limit to number of questions each day did not work properly. The result is a serious backlog. My replies to many questions will be briefer than usual, and I need to be very strict in following the rules about questions that duplicate others, especially for obvious low risk situations. You may use the Contact Us link to raise any concerns. Please note that it is not the moderator's decision whether or not to refund a credit card charge.

Also, I probably will not be able to respond to any follow-up comments or questions.

To your question:

What Englishman said (below).  Having never had unprotected sex it is silly to be tested for herpes or any other STD.  If you cannot have been infected, you cannot have a truly positive result.  Therefore, the only possible results of testing are a) negative or b) false positive. And since you could not have ever caught an STD, your symptoms cannot be due to STD.

Re 'I never felt a tingle or leakage until a few days ago. Am I being too Paranoid and cauing it myself':  Whenever a person suspects his or her own physical symptoms have an emotional or psychological origin, s/he is almost always right.  If the shoe fits, wear it.

You have genital-centered anxiety. There is nothing physically wrong with you.
