I have these two red scaly and peeling spots on my upper arm near my shoulder and on on my buttocks that is also dried out and peeling but it has a deeper red almost purple appearance to it.  Alnog with these bumps i have had pain in my tailbone that travels down my leg and pain in my abdomen along with a very thick odorless vaginal discharge.  I was just wondering if this sounds like an std to you.  Ive looked up hpv and it sounds to me like it could be that but im not sure.  Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As described, the skin lesions don't sound like any STD.  Genital warts (due to some types of HPV) occur rarely on the buttocks and never, to my knowledge, on the upper body.  You'll need to see a health care provider for a diagnosis.

Vaginal discharge is an other thing, and abdominal pain is worrisome.  There are too many possible causes to speculate, and you don't say anything about your sexual lifestyle (new partner, multiple partners, partners' risks, etc), so I can't speculate about STD as a cause.  But get it checked out.

Good luck--   HHH, MD

HEY.IT STILL SOUNDS LIKE HPV,HPV PRODUCES THICK WHITE DISCHARGE THAT COULD BE FOUND INSIDE THE VAGINA(ALSO LOOK FOR MORE INFO ON GENITAL WARTS). OR CLAMIDYA MIGHT BE ALSO PRESENT SINCE BACK PAIN,ABDOMINAL PAIN IS PRESENT AND A DISCHARGE,I DONT KNOW IF U COULD GET BOTH OF THEM AT ONCE (I JUST READ A LOT OF INFO OF HEALTH  WEBSITES AND TRY TO HELP PEOPLE)OF COURSE U MIGHT WANT TO CHECK FOR GONORRHEA AS WELL AS SYPHILLIS.

ALSO REMEMBER THAT HPV COULD INFECT THE CERVIX(CAUSING CERVICAL CANCER IF NOT TREATED)U MIGHT WANT TO TAKE A PAP SMEAR RIGHT AWAY (AS WELL AS STDS FOR CLAMYDIA AND GONORRHEA) TO SEE IF HPV HAS AFFECTED YOUR CERVIX(ABDONIMAL PAIN AND LOWER BACK PAIN ARE ASSOCIATED WITH IT)REMEMBER THAT U COULDVE HAD HPV FOR YEARS AND NOT HAVE SYMPTOMS. ALSO KEEP IN MIND THAT STDS DONT CAUSE SYMPTOMS RIGHT AWAY,IT TAKES A PERIOD OF TIMES FOR THEM TO SHOW UP.(AGAIN IM NOT A DOCTOR I JUST TRY TO HELP PEOPLE,IVE BEEN THERE TOO)GOOD LUCK

thanks sol i will get a pap smear and i was told that hpv and many std's you could of had for years but wouldnt they have shown up on a pap smear that i had before if i had them for many years?  Im totally lost on this stuff.  again thank you.

well im not quite sure but i think that hpv wouldnt have shown in your pap smear unless it had affected your cervix,so maybe thats why it didnt show up before. did u have a pap smear done within the last 6months after encounter? the best advise just take all stds test and pap smear right away before anxiety starts taking over! hpv is not curable but it wont do much to u i f u keep it on check and at some point it wont affect ur body anymore. if u have something else its probably curable through treatment so dont worry, cause to me it doesnt sound like herpes at all.
