Concerned about burning in thighs/red scrotum

| . | Doctor, I last had protected sex (I have always used a condom) on March 22nd. I had a complete screening including Herpes Select on May 5th. Everything came back ok, but I was still somewhat concerned. For about 2 weeks my thighs have been burning, though there is no rash and this is both sides of my inner thighs. I just noticed 3 days ago that my scrotum is red, not in one spot but pretty much the whole thing. Does this sound like anything STD to you? I feel like I may have the burning in my head and make it worse from time to time, b/c it doesn't burn all of the time. If this was something like Herpes would it be painful all of the time? Would it take this long for herpes to show up, and I have read that herpes would not be on both sides, as well as the whole scrotum. As I stated it is just red, there aren't blisters. I had shingles about 2 years ago and it doesn't remind me of how I felt from that. I'm just confused b/c all of my tests came back negative after about 6 weeks. Thanks in advance and God bless you for this wonderful service you give us. A donation will be following. | Forum-M.D.-HHH 5/31/2005
| conscience | No, none of this sounds like herpes or any other STD; and your negative HerpeSelect test (about 6 weeks after exposure) is highly reliable. You can be confident you don't have herpes.

| . | I did mean to add that there is a small red line, not raised at all, between my scrotum and pubic hair. |

| . | Last week I had sex and the girl bounced on my penis kind of akward sending pain throughout my groin area after sex I had sharp pains in my dick which hurt for about a day and a half no matter what I took for pain it hurt when I walked when it was touched and it was very sensitive to touch when the pain subsided it moved to my inner right thigh in which has been tingling, and feels as if it's burning and its sensitive to touch for the past 4 days it'll go away for a little and then it'll return as if it never left I also noticed how red my scrotum has been for the past couple of days It also itches in different spots and then it'll go away |

| . | Sorry one last comment/question. When I pull the skin back to take a look there are white dots on my scrotum. Are those papules or should I be concerned? |

| . | Conscience: You're probably describing prominent hair follicles and sebaceous glands, which are normal on the scrotum.
Caindenim: I don't respond to new topics/questions in preexisting threads. Forum policy.
