Fatty Emboli Syndrome

by tmboase, May 22, 2004 12:00AM
Is fatty emboli syndrome preventable?  My husband broke his tibia and fibula on a Saturday evening playing soccer.  The doctor said he would do surgery the next morning and kept him overnight.  Early Sunday morning he had a stroke caused by fatty emboli syndrome.  Would that have been preventable had surgery been done the night it happened?
