TIA's Speech and memory loss

by idbl_fanatic, Mar 13, 2007 12:00AM
Hi, I am new here, and I have been trying to find any info that I can. I am 34 yrs old, on Feb 12th I was showing signs, I had VERY slurred speech, but nothing else, then I was fine after about 20 mins, I was fine until the 13th, when it happened again, at which time I called the Dr, and was told to come in the next day. The only reason I didnt call or go to the ER, was because I was put on a nualogical the week before for carpel tunnel, and I though this was the cause.

Anyway, when I went to the Dr on the 14th, he sent me to the ER, they said that I had a blood clot after an MRI. While I was in the hospital I experianced numbness in my right hand/face, and weakness in my right arm. This continued for about a week afterwards. Last Friday 3/9 I got really dizzy, and weakness in my arm again. To the ER I went. How long can I expect to have this happen? My speech still comes and goes, depending on how long I am talking for (which affects my job, because I am on the phone), and I have noticed that I have trouble remembering things that JUST happened.

With so many repeats I hope you have begun using some safe bloodthinners.  At least take a teaspoon of cod liver oil a day (or capsules if you can't stand the taste, but it's quite tolerable if you have a chaser of water in you hand and immediately follow the cod liver oil with water), nattokinase (Nutricology/Allergy Research Group is the oldest brand of nattokinase.  I buy it from iherb.com), and garlic (unless you take Essential Daily Defense from Longevity Plus, which is a natural bloodthinner that already contains garlic).  Small amt of gingko also good for this purpose.

I'm betting that your problems will clear, but you want to protect against repeats.

Codliver oil is an excellent idea. My little 102 year gets it every day. I get the flavored kind. Plus omega-3 oil. Many strokes are caused by vitamin K deficiency, lack of exercise, and dehydration. The dehydration is often due to an insulin utilzation syndrome and an insulin clamp test is indicated.
