elevated bilirubin

my husband is 33 yrs old and has yellowing of his eyes. he was seen by his family physician and had a urinalysis, CBC and liver function study..all the labs were normal w/the exception of an elevated bilirubin of 3.0. he has never used alcohol and is in good health.. he has no symptoms other than the yellowing of the eyes. could this be suggestive of liver or pancreatic disease?

I have this ie all things normal except for bilirubin.  In my case it is Gilbert's disease which is a "normal variant" according to my doctor.
You never know you have it unless you have tests for other reasons or if you get jaundiced when ill.
It could be something else but to ease your mind while waiting for the doctor to advise I thought I'd post.
