Adomen Pain

I have experience bloating in my abdomen for about 5 months now, after visting the doctor 3 months ago explaining that I had this uncomfortable bloating I was sent away to try some rennie and change my diet.
Over the few months the bloating got worse and I was finding it very hard to relax or ever feel comfortable, every time I visited the toilet I found it a big strain to pass a stool and if I needed to unrinate that would cause me discomfort as well.
I started to have blood pass through in my discharge at others times not around my period cycle.
I went back to the doctor last week to have some tests and I am awaiting an ultrasound in 4 weeks.
Yesterday I coughed up blood in the morning and was wondering if this could have any relevance to my symptoms. My moods at the moment are terrible and I find myself breaking down in tears all the time and getting angry for no apparent reason. Could this also have somehting to do with the symptoms? I'm just generally feeling a bit weak and sad at the moment!

Hi,

Bloating is any abnormal general swelling, or increase in diameter of the abdominal area. As a symptom, the patient feels a full and tight abdomen, which may cause abdominal pain sometimes accompanied by borborygmus.

Common causes for abdominal bloating are:

    * Overeating (gastric distension)
    * Lactose intolerance, fructose intolerance and other food intolerances
    * Food allergy
    * Aerophagia (air swallowing, a nervous habit)
    * Irritable bowel syndrome
The symptom of bloating can be well managed through dietary changes that prevent the over-reaction of the gastrocolic reflex. Having soluble fiber foods and supplements, substituting dairy with soy or rice products, being careful with fresh fruits and vegetables that are high in insoluble fiber, and eating regular small amounts can all help to lessen the symptoms. Foods and beverages to be avoided or minimized include red meat, oily, fatty and fried products, dairy (even when there is no lactose intolerance), solid chocolate, coffee (regular and decaffeinated), alcohol, carbonated beverages, especially those also containing sorbitol, and artificial sweeteners.

Hope this helped. Let us know if you need any more help.

a possibility is that you could be what they call "bound up" inside or constapated which could cause you to become very bloated and trying to strain(not good) could cause discomfort. maybe try a stool softener which you can buy over the counter or even warm prunes or prune juice. drink lots and lots of water too. about the spitting up blood im not sure what could cause that.  if you havent already told your doctor about spitting up blood i would talk to him about that.
