RA any natural ideas to help?

Ok I was just diagnosed with RA.  They want me to take steriods.  I think they are REALLY scary.  Problem is my hands and wrists are so sore that I cannot sleep at night.  If I move the wrong way I amm in pain for hours.  Does anyone have any natural approaches to this inflamation flare?

Fish Oil and Glucosamine may help but you really should pursue the doctor's suggestion.

I agree you should follow the doctor's suggestions.  There is an OTC enzymatic antiinflammatory called Wobenzym.  It is purchased in health food stores and is expensive and not guaranteed to work.  Before you try it, talk with the doc about how it would interact with you.  If he/she is okay with it, you could try it for a month. If it doesn't work, try it the docs way.  RA is usually resistant to OTC treatments because they just aren't strong enough to combat the swelling and other complications of RA.  Good luck

Might want to click on Forums above & then click on to
Arthritis Forum & scan some of the comments. You can
also do a search by typing condition. You will then
be able to also access archives that relate. Once your
meds kick in, Dr. can maybe lower dose. Steroid use is
usually monitored & really offer relief. It's nothing
like the sports steroid use on tv. If you can sleep,
the pain will be less also. Maybe check w/ a nutitionist
or google. Learn which foods actually trigger inflammation.
Believe it or not, a Yam a day keeps pain away too.  It
helps control inflammation. Micro or neuk to keep in frig.
Only need a 1/2.  I laughed till I tried it for 2 weeks.
My knee stopped hurting. Placebo? Whatever works. They also
now have flavored cod-liver oil. Keep in frig. & have a tsp.
a.m. Evedently it works fast w/ any flair up. Haven't tried
it but gandmother used it her whole life till age 98. She was
still knitting.
