look into trichotellomania- if I spelled that right- if a dermatologist doesn't diagnose alopecia
some little kids compulsively pull out there hair, eyelashes, and/or eyebrows
at first we thought she was pulling her eyebrows out but now she says she's not pulling them anymore. I thought it could have something to do with hormones since she just started to get her periods
She might still be pulling even if she denies it now. Take her to a dermatologist, though, to be absolutely sure it's not one of the forms of alopecia that can strike suddenly.
does anyone know if she's pulling it out or is it thinning?
I started losing my hair when I was 11. Also female. Today, at age 21, it's still much thinner than it used to be, but it exists. I was told it was just a natural thing. For some girls, their hair gets thicker. For others, it thins out.
