Hey, I used to date a guy whose parent's live in Concord.  I went to that huge mall there - loved that!!!!  I know, that's what I love about North Carolina....beautiful mountains and prestine beaches.  Yeah, the Outer Banks are beautiful - you should come and vacation some times.  It's just different than Atlantic Beach/Emerald Isle, although my sister and her husband live in Morehead City - and I really love it there , too.
I know we're not supposed to do this - but I hate to waste space - and I would love to talk to you some more.  If you want, email me sometime. tired_in_nc***@****

Wow. I hear Nags Head is a wonderful place. I live in Charlotte North Carolina.  The humidity is awful here. But we are lucky I geuss.  We have the beach and we also have easy access to the mountians. With gas prices the way they are this year we are unlikely to see either. Keep your head up. Chat later.

Hey, THAT IS WONDERFUL!!!!!  I know you already knew that it was fine, but I worried just a little! ;)
I can understand about not being in the mood for doctor appts.....I am sick to death of doctors offices.  Hopefully there will be a time in the very near future where you will be able to just sit back and take it easy and pamper yourself.  I truly hope that time comes for you soon - you've really been through the wringer, huh?
Yeah, i am trying really hard to keep a sense of humor in the midst of all this stuff.  It's easier some days than others.  Once again, I am so happy for you and I wish you the very best from here on out.  Keep us posted!

Good Morning,

My doctor called me yesterday to let me know that my bone marrow biopsy was totally normal. Hurray. I knew it would be.  But as for the shoulder thing, I cancelled my appointment with doc. today.  I really am not in the mood for anymore injections right now.

It's good to hear you two joking around.  In spite of everything that's going on, I hope we can all enjoy some "fun" time this summer.

Hey, yeah, I live in NC - close to the outer banks - about 30 miles from Nags Head.  Where are you located?

I am so so pleased for you as I@m sure Charley will be . You were spot on just shows you doesn't it eh ! The joking bits have always been my way. Glad you understand it because some people don't! Its just a really good coping mechanism as the saying goes you either laugh or you cry and I prefer the former. Theres quite a few people on the forum same sort of sense of ironic humour. Good job really or I,d get really negative comments I suppose. Anyway don't blame you for taking a break from being poked about. When you finally do go and see the ortho let us know how you get on. Till then tata for now and have fun!!! XXXChris

Hey Duchess,
God, that sounds awful.  My cousin was a hairstylist and had to give it up due to torn rotator cuff....i know that she was in ALOT of pain.  I am so sorry that you have had to deal with that.  She had surgery a couple of months ago - and I hate to say it, but haven't talked to her in a while so i am not sure how she is doing.  I hope all goes well with doc and there is some treatment that will help.  Let us know.
Feeling a tad bit better today but I slept until one o'clock this afternoon!!!!  I am ashamed to say it - I feel like I have wasted half the day!  I guess my body just needed the rest.

Hey Chris - I'm up for the ride if you can make it to the states and North Carolina!!!!  He He :)
I saw where you posted you'd had a chest infection.  Anything serious?  Or something like bronchitis?  Hope you are doing well.  **** - need to get off computer - lightening - yet ANOTHER SUMMER STORM!!!!
Talk to you soon!

Hi Charley,

I hope this morning you are feeling better.  I agree with the getting the heck out of Dodge idea.  As long as I can do that while staying in bed at the same time, ha ha.

I downloaded an explanation for shoulder impingement from the web.  It is extremely painful and at least explains the pain that goes from my neck all the way down to my fingers on left side of body.  I can't raise my arm above my head at all.  I will see orthopedic doc. tomorrow for treatment options.

Shoulder impingement syndrome is caused by compression of the tendons of the rotator cuff between a part of the shoulder blade and the head of the humerus. This can become a chronic inflammatory condition that may lead to a weakening of the tendons of the rotator cuff, a situation that may result in a torn rotator cuff. Initial treatment for an impinged shoulder includes rest, ice, and anti-inflammatory medications (sometimes including steroid injections). When shoulder surgery is necessary, the surgical procedures used by doctors are designed to make more room for the tendons of the rotator cuff. This is accomplished by removing bone spurs that the tendon rubs on in order to make more room for the tendon to glide normally. This type of surgery is called an "acromioplasty"). At the same time, a lubricating sack between the rotator cuff and the underside of the acromion (known as the bursa) that is inflamed by the impingement process is also removed. The surgery for shoulder impingement syndrome is known as subacromial decompression.

Hey Duchess, good to hear from you - will keep you in my thoughts while waiting for your results.  yeah, I kind of knew that it was cancer - can't tell you how - just did.  But I am trying to keep this in perspective - it's a curable cancer and hopefully, there is no metasis.  Thanks so much for your kind thoughts.....
And thanks to both of you for being so supportive of me during all this ****!  I think we should ALL hop on the campervan and get the hell out of "Dodge" for a while.
I am in the midst of another flare up of my fibromyalgia - got up this morning so swelled and sore and achey.  Couldn't even put my elbow to rest on the table.  This all makes sense - with the thyroid and all - and right now dealing with low grade fever, nausea and pretty little fever blister in the corner of my mouth.  All these things come in bunches...so will stay home and rest tomorrow and hopefully by this time tomorrow, I will be able to move without so much pain!
Duchess, what is shoulder impengement syndrome?  You said it's not neuro in nature.  You may have explained this before in a previous post - if so, please forgive the brain fog.  :)
Ok, it's off to bed for me...if I can stand for the covers to touch me!  Good nite - talk to you again soon!

I was away for the weekend and just read your post, Charley.  Well, I guess you knew there was a chance of this, but still doesn't make things easier for you.  I wish I were there to give you support.  I am a very intuitive person and I know you will be o.k.

Crys, what's happening with you?  How are you doing?

I should be recieving the results of my bone marrow test this week.  I'm not worried about them as I do not think I have cancer.  All of the "things" that showed up on my MRI's are being explained to me little by little.  The pain in my neck, shoulder, arm, hand, fingers is all due to tendonitits aggravated by shoulder impingmement syndrome.  Not neurological.

Please keep in touch.

Hey, Chris - thanks for your thoughts.  I am doing well.  I think I am a little tired now that the "fight" to find answers seems to have come to an end.  To me, this is not an uphill battle any more.  I am on solid, level ground and ready to do what necessary to get well.  The thoughts that I might actually feel GOOD again, makes me giddy!  I can't wait.  I know its not going to be easy with the adjustment to meds and all - but atleast now, I see light at the end of the tunnel!  I will continue to keep you posted.  I agree about what GravesLady wrote.  I took her advice and looked up the university hospital where I will have the surgery and read all the info on him so that I will atleast know that part when I see him.  I intend to make sure I am in experienced hands....I haven't come this far to just lay down and take it!!!!! :)
Thanks again!
DUCHESS, hope this finds you doing well!  Look forward to having you post again soon!
