Fingernails turning black

I noticed Thursday that my fingernails are turning black (looks as if I have black dirt under the part of the nails that have grown into a length above the skin..  My nail bed is a purplish color.  My nails do not look like normal nails which they did the last i had noticed before Thursday.

Nails can turn black from meds/chemotherapy/aids/bacteria or
fungal conditions. Like pre-post, need to go to Dr.
