mrsa

Help! I am so worried. I know I am on here alot but I am one of those mothers. My kids were exposed to MRSA not only once but twice now. I don't know what to do. Is there anyone that can explain the severity of this if any. Thank you all for putting up with me!!

Here is an article with a lot of info about MRSA.
I didn't realize contact sports and sports equipment were risks for MRSA. Anyway, it's worth a read.

Hi, my sister in law had a bad case of mrsa infection. (you are talking about mrsa staph infection right?? I hope so...)

It was on the back of her thigh and at first the doctors didnt know what it was. It looked like a mixture of both a spider bite and a boil. It was a huge knot that put her in alot of pain. It started seeping ooze and it stunk really bad. They did a biopsy on it and found out it was infact mrsa. They had to cut it open and pack it with medicated guaze and they gave her some antibiotics and it cleared up. They told her that since she had been infected with it, she will always carry it around so she has to be careful when she is in public. Especially if she has an open wound like a cut on her hand so that she doesnt spread it to others.

you dont need to do anything unless they are ill ! exposure is not a prob if you are well . i have been in contact with mrsa 5 days a week for 4 years now and it is not a risk to me . the best thing to prevent infecion is to wear gloves in contact or wash hands well and use alchol based hand gell. x x
