Black Mold???

It seems like all the kids in my apartment complex can't get rid of illnesses. They come down with colds. strep, and weird rashes. My kids can't get rid of the cold and my youngest has had a full body rash for a month now. My husband and I have been having horrible allergies and itchiness. I am so concerned but I don't know what to do. Help?

Just wondering if there is actually a way for the hospital to check and see if my 2 monfh old has been exposed to black  mold. I am positive she has been. The apartment next door to us is covered in black mold. We bought a mold testing kit for our apartment and sure enough there is mold. Help!

I breathed in black mold spores yesterday for about 3 hours. I had no idea what was about to happen to me. About 30 mins. after I left the old house I started feeling really bad. First I started feeling dizzy, then the sore throat, after that, body aches and weezing. Diahrea started about an hour later. I'm still weezing and my throat hurts but I'm alive. Oh yea,,,I haven't urinated but 1 time since yesterday. What can I do to make this sickness go away. Is this like being poisoned??

Black mold is best destroyed with ammonia. NEVER EVER mix ammonia with chlorox because the resultant mixing produces deadly gas. The way to get rid of the black mkold is to divide your bathroom into imaginary squares. When you are about to leave the apartment, hold your breath and spray ammonia onto an area about three foot by three foot. Have the window open. IMMEDIATELY leave the apartment on your errands. When you return, the toxic fumes will have dispersed. The next time you leave do another area. Work sequentially until the bathroom is done.

That's good that you're going to the hospital, sounds like you need a new doctor who isn't lazy -- please let me know what happens!!!

yes. I just called his doc adn she said she is not worried. But my oldest just woke up with a fever so I am taking him to Children's Mercy urgent care and I am just gonna show them the rash and see what they think could be causing all this.

That sounds terrible.... You should really first diagnose what you're allergic to - bring the whole family to an allergist & get the scratch testing to find out.

Is there mold in your building? Is it old? I've had mold before in the bathroom, and we had to clean it with bleach -- if it's in your walls, you should really get someone in there to fix it - it can really cause problems, especially for your children.

Don't ignore this - find out what you're allergic to, then treat what you can see in your apartment - and if it persists, call and complain to your landlord & check the laws in your city - mold can cause real sickness in people, and the people who own your complex will need to get that fixed - ESPECIALLY if all the kids are sick, that's awful, a rash for a month?!
