I will ask what someone else has asked, have you lost alot of weight lately or have these lines just start to appear? Do they appear only on your stomach, or are they on your under arms too? They may not be as purple under the arm though. Have you gained any weight lately? Most likely in your belly area the upper part they call the spare tire? Have you gained or noticed any fat or weight gain in your back area? Has your face become more rounded, and have you noticed a hump at the base of the back of your neck? These are all signs of cushings disease. I was just diagnosed with cushings. It has to do with your pituitary gland and your body producing too much cortisol, I have a pituitary tumor which causes mine. If that is what it is that you have gotten then be prepared to gain some weight. I have gained 65 pounds in the last 4-6 months, and every month I go to the doctor I gain a few more pounds. And I SHOULD NOT be gaining anything because I had gastric bypass  done a year ago. So you see how frustrating this is for me. To go through gastric bypass just to gain more weight. Needless to say I am p'Oed about it!!!

Here are some of the symptoms I found for you..

Classic Features of Cushing's Syndrome:

moon face (round, red, and full)
"buffalo hump" -- collection of fat between the shoulders
central obesity with protruding abdomen and thin extremities
weakness
headache
acne or superficial skin infections
thirst
increased urination
purple striations on the skin of the abdomen, thighs, and breasts
mental changes
impotence or cessation of menses

or try this web site it shows more detail...you will have to copy and paste all of this site below to see it...

Those are definately just ordinary stretch marks. Did you lose some weight or just have a baby? They don't go away, they sometimes fade but they never go away.
