I fully agree with heart2heart. An opthamologist can photograph your retina under magnification. That can be used to screen for, or diagnose a myriad of problems. A new neurologist may have new ideas.
I assume you've been to the opthamologist and had a full dilated eye exam where they check your retina? Is your eye pressure ok? Sometimes glaucoma can give you headaches, especially with high pressures.
If your eyes are ok I would see another neurologist- to rule out some kind of vascular problem in the brain before you get a bona fide diagnosis of "migraine".
I saw a neurologist 2 years ago
He said I have miagains with no headache, I can't buy that. Why would my symptoms stay for months and then fad away except my eyes. The problems with my eyes have not went away execpt visual distortion and it comes & goes. That is the only one I can see that would be related to miagranes. Loosing some of my vision & it not coming back scares me. I will deal with what ever is handed to me, but it does not mean I should go on not knowing.
Have you been to a neurologist? With the new symptoms you listed, it sounds like it could be a neurological problem.
yes - I do not have diabetis
I have a few other things going on with me & I don't know it they are related to all the strange sensations & my eyes, but sometimes I will bend my head forward & I have a pain go down my neck and it runs down to the middle of my back like just below my shoulder blades
I also have a line like a shadow that goes through the center of my eye
Have you been tested for diabetes?
thanks for the info I will look into it
I am SSSOOOO not a doctor...and there are 100's of things that can cause your symptoms. I just have one suggestion, only b/c my mom had this. Do a google search on myasthenia gravis. See if your symptoms match what it describes. I could be 1000% off base here, but I just wanted to offer it as some further research for you. Sometimes docs don't think outside of the box enough. You may need to seek out a specialist to try to investigate your symptoms.
since this started I have had my thyroid checked
Visiual distortion id in both eyes - left lower quaderant - comes & goes
it looks like I am looking through fog all the time, I have floaters, & seem to be loosing my side vision. at times I also have flashes of bright lights. Eyeball pain, almost like the muscles behind my eye have been doing exercises. I have also twice had my eyes go nuts - I could not control them
what kind of visual distortions do you have?
Have you had your thyroid checked lately?
