Can anyone help my 15 year old son please??

Hi, my son had his tonsils and adenoids removed when he was 3 years old, due to chronic recurrent tonsilitis. Ever since, he seems to have a cold every other week and has daily sneezing fits - up to 40 consecutive sneezes each time - which sometimes makes the back of his throat bleed. Anyone got any suggestions please? I would be very grateful! Thanks!

Thanks for your response Demi. Sorry if i wasn't clear..he seems to get a cold every few weeks, but the sneezing happens most days - with or without a cold- all year round. Will enquire about allergy tests, etc. thanks!

Thanks Ozark, I must admit I had not thought of that, as he had the surgery 12 years ago, but it may be worth giving it a try! Cheers!

has he been back to the surgeon?  the fact he still bleeds when he sneezes should be invesstigated.

Well, then I would suggest allergy screening thru the doctor.  Perhaps they could suggest a remedy to help alleviate some of his suffering.  I had adolscent asthma and used to have similar events.  Pollens and dust were the worst.  I think you should set him up with an allergy specialist and go from there.

Good luck!

Hi Pammy, thanks for your reply. yes, I have tried that..along with numerous other remedies...but nothing seems to work! I have never heard of anyone else sneezing as often - or as violently - as him and hoped that someone could perhaps offer an explanation.Hope to find a cure, as he wants to be a pilot! ARGHH!!

Have you tried putting him on a daily allergy medication, such as Clariten or Alavert?
