| nasus 8/23/2006 | . | Is it possible to be diagnosed hypothyroid (TSH 5.3) and still have symptoms of hyperthyroidism when taking levothyroxine? I've been off the levothyroxine for a few weeks and the first day I took a 25 mcg dose, my ears started to ache, my throat was sore, my eyes burned, my neck ached, and I felt agitated all day, and worse than I had for weeks. Why would such a small dose have that kind of effect? |
| Forum-M.D.-ML 8/23/2006 | nasus | This is unusual. The TSH of 5.3 is borderline and not necessarily requiring treatment. May be reasonable to recheck TSH in 4-6 weeks w/o levothyroxine and if it is on the rise, try the treatment again. |

| kk123 8/24/2006 C2 | . | I have some Thyroid related questions for you -M.D.-ML . Hope you can help me. I had been diognised with Hyperthyroidism -- Graves Disease for years with Tapozle. Then my endocrinologist suggest me to take RAI. After RAI, I still hyper, so continue to take Tapozle. After 1 year of RAI, right now I am Hypothyroidism -- after RAI treatment . And I am on Synthroid 0.088mg for 3 months, then my doc change to Eltroxin 0.05mg now. I am searching for the better treatment for myself because I don't think these chemical medicine is good for the body. I regret that I took RAI without knowing the serious side effect for my rest of my life. :( -------------from what I had experienced I will NOT sugguest people to take RAI !!------------- I suffer lots of symtoms after got Hypo from RAI. Not sleep well, no energy, hair loss, dry skin, feel cold..and I am only 23 years old! I feel helpless...but I believe the natural herbal may be can help me..I found a site http://www.greenlife-herbal.com/ and want you comments. What do you think I should do??
