Am I taking too much synthroid?

by mskaren72, May 30, 2007 12:00AM
My doctor changed my synthroid from 1.50 to 2.0 m. about a month ago. For the past 3 days I have been experiencing left kidney pain (very bad)and I wonder if maybe the doctor gave me too high of a doseage? I did go to the e.r and they did a cat scan and a urine test since I am prone to kidney stones, but all came clear for stones or an infection. Can too much synthroid cause kidney pain?

Not a known side-effect, but that is quite a large dose increase -- there is a 0.175mg dose....

Hi,
I don't think the synthroid would give you any pain. I have been taking .224mcg for the past 2 years and never had any problems. I am 36y old and have been taking synthroid for 20 years, I started with .25 and have been going up ever since.
Hope you feel better, drinl lots of water.
