Hyperthyroid and knee pain - arthiritis?

Hi again, I have more worries. Me knees have been painful since about the same time that my thyroid became over active, a couple of months ago now. I am not able to run, jump or walk for a long time. I thought it was a result of playing tennis but the pain is not going away, in fact they are getting worse all the time. I am now being tested for auto immune arthiritis (had to ask the doctors to do so), which I have read is related to thyroid conditions. Has anyone else gone through this? How much does the conditions effect your life? I love sports.

I was diagnosed w/Grave's about 6 weeks ago. My dr. put me on methimazole, but last week I started developing horrible pain in my joints, especially knees and wrists. He switched me to PTU a couple days ago, but the pain has not let up (except w/steroid and meperidine for pain). He says the joint pain may be from Grave's so he wants to knock it out w/double PTU. I am afraid to keep taking this drug. Any thoughts?
