dark lump under skin right shoulder

I'm 32 year old female. My question is why do I have a dark lump under my skin on my right shoulder. It's about a pea size went to see a doctor about it once. He squeezed it even though I told him there was pain to it. I had the lump for 2 year with no troubles other than the pain when pressure was aplied. So the result od the doctor doing that made some kind of infection to that area. It got so bad I could barley move my head with out being in alot of pain. Took some pill's infection went away but the dark lump still remains. What could it be?
