Perscription with Yeast Infection NOT helping

by asnelsons, Feb 12, 2007 12:00AM
I was treated with a Yeast Infection this morning and I was perscribed for Fluconazole 150 mg.  It is still swollen down there, and is still itchy and irratable.  It has been 5 hours since I took the medicine.  When will they symptoms subside..or was it not a yeast infection at all?

My experience with antibiotics is that it takes a good 24 hours to begin noticing an improvement.

As for southerly yeast infections (I've only had a few) used the suppositories. Again, didn't notice a move in a more comfortable direction until 24 hours later.

Be patient. ;-)
