Epyditimis Cyst about 4 mm on both testicles...

Hi Sirs,

Ive recently had an Ultra Sound done after about 1 year of having some pain in mostly my left testicle after hard tennis playing and or being stiff a little from playing tennis in the lower back region.  The ultrasound showed a 4mm cyst at the head of my left epyditimis, and a 3mm on my right one, which I had already felt a year ago as well.  My first main question is, why, over the last couple months, have my testicles been getting hard and tense a lot(as if you poured cold water on them)?  Does this have anything to do with the cysts?  Or is it stress or nerves? For instance, usually when I wake up in the morning the testicles are loss and hanging like normal, but after I sit down for a while theyll get hard and ache.  Or sometimes when I sit on the toilet for a minute theyll get hard and ache a little again. I noticed when I was waiting for the urologist in the waiting room, they get hard as well. It made it virtually impossible for him to feel where the Cysts were cause of that.  Also, know that when they are hard and high like that, they ache in the region where the cysts are of course especially  when you touch in that area.

1 other question please...Are these epydidimal cysts caused from either masturbating too much, not having sex enough, can there be a way to reduce their size in other words?  Thanx so much.

It is certainly possible that the epididymal cysts may be causing your discomfort.  The ultrasound that you had would be the best test to see if there was anything else going on.

These cysts occur with increased frequency in male offspring of mothers who used diethylstilbesterol during pregnancy.  It can also be trigged by previous surgery on the groin region.  I an unaware of a connection from excessive masturbating or sex.

If the cysts cause discomfort, they can be removed during an outpatient procedure.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
